This is the timeline for the Batman television series, set in Earth-66 of both the DC Comics Multiverse and the DC Live-Action Multiverse, as well as existing in the DC Animated Multiverse.

Timeline Reasoning
Codename: Action takes place in 1965 according to the Green Hornet wiki. It's not a solid placement, though, and I didn't spot any date claiming such, but there's nothing contradicting it I guess.

The Batmobile has a manufacturing date of 1966.

In The Green Hornet '66 Meets The Spirit #1, the Spirit is said to come out of retirement on July 15th, 1966. The first 2 issues occur in succession. It's placement is approximately the middle of the year.

In Batman 1x07, James Gordon states "Ice in July?".

School is active in Batman 1x15, meaning it's sometime after September. It's further implied when Dick mentions that pre-college exams start in 3 days. The ACT (American College Testing) is held on September at the earliest. Since Batman confusingly mentions it being a school holiday the next day, it's presumed he meant that it was Saturday.

The Green Hornet '66 Meets The Spirit #3-5 are set in December.

In Batman 2x32, Santa Claus acknowledges that "it's almost Christmas".

In Batman 2x53, the Narrator states it's "The start of a new semester at ivy covered Yale University".

Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet takes place in Spring. Robin states he got an A+ in his Diving Education last week. He passed his driving license in Batman 3x01, "Enter Batgirl, Exit Penguin". All episodes in Season 3 take place straight after each other.

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders presumably occurs after the show.

Batman vs. Two-Face has a 6 month jump near the beginning after a montage of fights with Two-Face.

Batman '66 takes place after Batman vs. Two-Face as it sees Hugo Strange with a new identity as Doctor Hugo, Holly Quinn become Harlequin and Harvey became Two-Face for the first time (his evil side returned when he was scarred from acid in Batman '66: The Lost Episode).

Batman '66 #17, "The Inevitable Jail-Term" refers to new 1966 police rule books. This is ignored as it contradicts the TV show.

Batman '66 #27-28 is set in August as a woman asks if it's still such after her You-Cooler goes off.

Batman '66 #46, "The Short Halloween" happens during Halloween.

Batman '66 #47-48 takes place in Spring.

Batman '66 Meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E. is set after Batman '66 due to Hugo Strange.

Batman '66 Meets Steed and Mrs Peel references Batman's time in England as seen in Batman '66.

Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Super-Heroes states that it is set in 1966, but this is impossible due to Batgirl's appearance. It is set after Batman '66 due to the appearance of Solomon Grundy.

Archie Meets Batman '66 is set after Batman '66 due to the appearance of Poison Ivy.

Legends
of the Superheroes is placed in it's release year.

Supergirl 5x09, "Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 1" takes place on December 10th, 2019. A now retired Dick Grayson is walking his dog when a wave of Anti-Matter destroys his universe. He exclaims "holy crimson skies of death!" and is wiped from existence. Earth-66 is restored after the Anti-Monitor Crisis.

This is the timeline for the 1966 Batman show and it's associated tie-in material. It is currently unknown if it is within the Arrowverse, although since Burt Ward is set to appear in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, it's very likely.

Canon
Batman

This series is the main chunk of this timeline, as it's what all other material spins off from.

Batman: The Movie
This tie-in movie is largely seperate and isolated, but is a spin-off of the series nonetheless.

Legends of the Superheroes
This odd show features three returning actors from the series.

Batman '66
A comic series was produced to expand and pay tribute to the Batman (1966) universe.

Batman - Return of the Caped Crusaders
A animated movie based on the television series was made 50 years later.

Batman vs. Two-Face
A sequel to Batman - Return of the Caped Crusaders was released a year later. It retconed Batman '66 - The Lost Episode out of existence

Non-Canon
The Green Hornet

The Green Hornet is certainly non-canon. The show features Batman as a television series, showing the Batcave, so it can't be reasoned that it's a news recording. Bruce and Dick watch a show called The Green Hornet, but it's not actually shown, so it can be presumed that it's a fictionalized interpretation of the Green Hornet and Kato's adventures, or it's a coincidence and it's completely unrelated to The Green Hornet and the show is about something else.

Batgirl
The Batgirl tv short was produced to impress ABC executives and was never officially aired. It can be found on the Batman: The Complete Television Series box-set's special features. It is non-canon because it contradicts Batgirls meeting Batman and Robin, among other reasons.

1974 Equal Pay with Batgirl
The 1974 Equal Pay with Batgirl short is non-canon, and only used to promote women's rights. Batman doesn't pay Robin or Batgirl, and Batgirl certainly wouldn't play with the two heroes lives.

Batman '66 - The Lost Episode
This comic is heavily contradicted by Batman vs. Two-Face, therefore it no longer counts as canon.

Batman '66 Meets The Green Hornet/Batman '66 Meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E./Batman '66 Meets Steed and Mrs. Peel/Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77/Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Superheroes/Archie Meets Batman '66
The crossover comics all seem to take place in 1966, which is incompatible with the timeline established on the show.

Reasoning
It's presumed the episodes air in order of release because of the Blu-Ray episode guide and the bookend narration stating which Villain is up next time (although Batman 1x10: A Death Worse Than Fate confused the Riddler for the Joker).

The Batmobile has a manufacturing date of 1966, so it's no earlier than that.

In Batman 1x07: Instant Freeze, James Gordon states "Ice in July?".

In Batman 2x32, Santa Claus acknowledges that "it's almost Christmas".

In 2x53, the Narrator states it's "The start of a new semester at ivy covered Yale University".

In Batman - Return of the Caped Crusaders, Batman says that with good behaviour, Catwoman can get an early parole in 15 years. In Batman vs. Two-Face, Batman tells Catwoman that she will have payed her dept to society in 37 months, thus implying that film is 12 years after Batman - Return of the Caped Crusaders, dispite not catching Catwoman at the end of that film. Since Harvey Dent makes a joke about it being past Robin's bedtime, and he acquired his driving licence after March 1967, he is most likely 18-19, meaning that it must be assumed Batman pulled some strings to get Catwoman to only serve 5 or 6 years, placing this film in 1969 or 1970. I prefer 1969 because Robin being described as a child seems odd at 19 and Batman could have put in a good word and had his voice heard, plus 10 is a nice even number. It's presumed Batman found a way to make Tut forget their secret identities.

what about the animated tv show the new adventurs of batman starring adam west
I'm aware. Most seem to be of the belief that's a separate universe, so I'm going with that. It's also got a pink Riddler, a different batmobile and a different batgirl suit. I just decided to ignore it.

shazam from the old tv show is in legends of the superheroes so is that canon

why is wonder woman from 1977 not canon
The timeline established in Batman 66' Meets Wonder Woman '77 means that Catwoman is on themyscira from 1966 to 1977, dispite the timeline established in the show. Unfortunately, this means that the comic is thrown out by the show and movie material, and with it the connection to the 70s show.

If you wanted, I guess you could put The Green Hornet in there, but in my opinion that causes conflict with the shows universe as I've posted above. It's easier to assume that the crossover episode is about a similar duo known as the Green Hornet and Kato.

alright i am going to use your timeline to watch and read everything in order and i hope that it is worth watching and reading. I now that the show is corny and campy but i like Batman so i hope it's good

I'm thinking of including The Green Hornet. I think that the writers just paid less attention to the tv show continuity. Someone came up with the explanation that Bruce Wayne created a tv show that included a replica of the Batcave so that if anyone discovered it, he could claim he's just a massive Batman fan. If I ignore the Batmobile date saying 1966, supposedly I could include the crossovers, but I'm not so sure.

I haven't seen Green Hornet yet, or finished Batman but is there a reason Green Hornet is set before Batman?

Temporary placement, I'll move it when I get some kind of timeline indication.

Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Super-Heroes says its 1966 but features Batgirl.
(Mildly annoyed) sigh, guess it takes place on Earth-76... I might to do a timeline on that when I get the series one day.

1942
The New Original Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman
S1

Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77

1966
Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Super-Heroes
Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77

1977
Wonder Woman S2
Wonder Woman S3
Wonder Woman '77

Wonder Woman '77 Meets The Bionic Woman

Batman '66 Meets The Legion of Super-Heroes

I guess Earth-66 is filled with pulp heroes like the Spirit, the Green Hornet, Kato, Batman, Robin and heroes from Codename: Action, as well as the occasional classic hero like the Flash, Green Lantern, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, Superman (possible doubleganger of 50s Superman) as well as organisations U.N.C.L.E. and the Avengers, but Earth-76 is a universe full of DC superheroes such as Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Wonder Woman and the non-DC character the Bionic Woman as well as a future Legion of Super-Heroes.

Ah, this is going to be confusing.

Doesn't that make alot more shows canon?

For the sake of my sanity, and that I don't want it to be the imagination of Tommy Westphall, no, it's simply the version of these characters in the '66 universe.

When it comes to this and the Arrowverse, for now I'm going to just focus on live action crossovers (except for the Crisis giant comics), when deciding what is canon.

Fair. Kinda what I'm going with, to be honest.
