Timeline Hub

While I think these should be seperate timelines as well, I think there should also be a combined timeline of the "Slasherverse".

Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Black Christmas
Halloween
Friday the 13th
Evil Dead
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Child's Play
Shocker
Frozen
Hatchet
Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
Sharknado
Lavalantula

Let's establish that I'm referring to the Evil Dead films/show, Halloween 4-6, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1-4 (and 2022) continuities.

There are many notable ties between the films.

Freddy vs. Jason connects those films indisputably. They must occur on the same timeline. Friday the 13th: The Game contains connections to Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Shocker, Hatchet and Behind the Mask. Rick Cologne is revealed to also be Pastori from Shocker, going under his mother's maiden name. One of the Friday the 13th comics that can fit into canon has a newspaper that states "Leatherface Returns".

Bride of Chucky opens in with a scene in police lockup where various Slashers from other film series are referenced. Michael's mask, Jason's mask, Leatherface's chainsaw and Freddy's glove. This actually can tie into where Halloween 6 left off, with Michael's mask being left on the ground. On a less official note, there was a tv advert where Michael met Chucky.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon contains serveral references to Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween and Child's Play. Eugene from Behind the Mask was written to be Billy, the Slasher from Black Christmas.

Hatchet contains references to Leslie Vernon and Jason Voorhees as other in-universe killers. According to the actress, her character from Hatchet 3 is Stretch from Texas Chainsaw 2, though she has a different name. Stretch also appeared in Sharknado despite dying in Hatchet 3. I read that the Sharknado series ended on a timeline reset, so we can assume that the Slasherverse is set in the new timeline, allowing us to ignore Sharknado almost entirely.

Jason Goes to Hell uses the Necronomicon and Kandarian dagger from the Evil Dead series. According to the director, while he couldn't state it outright due to rights issues, he intended to imply Pamala Voorhees used the Necronomicon to resurrect her son, making Jason a Deadite. Jason is also killed by the Kandarian dagger. I imagine that these wouldn't be the same book and dagger from the Ash Evil Dead stories, similar to Evil Dead (2013), and there's multiple copies of the Necronomicon. There's also the Freddy vs Jason vs Ash comic books, but those are set in the Army of Darkness comic universe, where Evil Dead happened in modern day and Ash vs Evil Dead never happened. It also contradicts the continuity of the Friday and Nightmare films in regards to certain characters' ages and other comic books. We can assume a version of the Slasherverse occurred in Earth-818793 like it did in the main universe.

If you wanna throw in Jason vs Leatherface, let's assume the Illuminati set Leatherface up with a new family and Jason got chained up in the Lake again. Oh, and Doris is one of the names Pamala Voorhees goes by sometimes. Clearly meant to just be a fun comic, but why not.

This video is pretty good at going over everything.

At the very least, I would argue that this is canon to the Hatchet franchise. The Friday the 13th game tapes, which connect to a bunch of stuff, were written by Adam Green, who wrote, directed, produced and starred in Hatchet. That series connects to his other film, Frozen, and referenced Leslie Vernon, which is basically a major connective piece to all of these separate franchises.

Rights issues prevent it from being a true shared universe in the vain of Marvel, but there's more than enough linking a mythology of killers for those who look for that, with a whopping 45 movies (53 if youn count Sharknado...) and 2 television shows.

If anyone's interested, I made my own head-canon DCAU that works quite well and I think is pretty darn bulletproof when it comes to continuity. Let me know if you think anything is off.

Oh yeah. There's this comic. I have no idea if this is the same continuity as the other Hack/Slash comics or the implications if it is, but it takes place after Seed of Chucky. Chucky references Freddy, Jason and Michael in it, further connecting the Slasher film universe together. The universe gets really damn expansive if you let it.

As for why the events of Evil Dead are shown as an in-universe movie in A Nightmare on Elm Street, maybe it's just a random film that looks identical to Evil Dead but is actually completely seperate. That's what happens when you retroactively link multiple franchises together. Also, Sam Raimi actually loved the idea of using Evil Dead lore in Jason Goes to Hell apparently, so you have his approval. Friday the 13th was on a billboard on the 1982 time travel episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. I assume it's either an unrelated movie or something based on the legend of Jason Voorhees.

Oh, the Chucky meets Michael ad can't be canon, as if it was ever actually intended to be, because Michael was killed in the Halloween 4-6 followup comics. Basically they tried to link it to the H20 timeline but it contradicted where that reality went. Laurie became the new "Michael Myers" after killing him in the original timeline's version of H20.

I added the comics because why not? Hack/Slash comics should probably be included but eh, this is good for now.

If The Man From UNCLE is indeed canon to the 007 universe, who's up for timelining it?
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. had a crossover with the 1960s Batman TV series. In that case, you could just say screw it and say that it's the Batman/Green Hornet/Avengers/U.N.C.L.E./James Bond universe. I took the comic as showing an alternate version of the characters with many similarities for simplicity, but I think you could make a case.

Actually a little surprised we never got a Batman '66 Meets James Bond comic considering Avengers and U.N.C.L.E. got one.

This is why I think it's best to keep stuff like this as their own timelines because crossovers don't always mean same universe. It could easily just be a version of that character popping up in a different franchise that's completely unconnected to the other.

There were some flashbacks to a specific episode of The Avengers, though. They even made it black and white to match the show. The Wonder Woman/Bionic Woman crossover did the same, except they actually left a small note referring to the specific episode it is in reference to.

Doesn't necessarily prove anything in the first case though. These are the same characters, logically they would have experienced similar events to their TV counterpart. In Wonder Woman's case... I guess it could be canon to both realities perhaps? I wonder whether the Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman sequel comics even acknowledged the crossover.

Ultimately, it's a case-by-case basis when it comes to crossovers. It would feel like an awful lot to add, like, 300 episodes of television all because of a single comic book story.

RE: The Stranger Things Timeline...I am coming across a slight issue with a couple of the comics.

I have seen part of Season 4 -- and I am ASSUMING that "Six" is replacing the old "Six" seen in the "Six" comic book. If not, there's a massive continuity issue since the Six seen in Season 4 is a boy AND the old Six in the comics was a girl with long, red hair who was shot and killed to end the series.

Also, the "The Bully" comic basically just ignores things that happened in Season 2. For example, a bunch of kids scare the shit out of Will while he and his friends trick or treat and this triggers him into going to the Upside Down where he sees that huge cloud beast thing before he hides and his friends find him.

In the comic, after the kids scare Will, that "visit" never happens and the bullies that bullied the group try to jump Will instead until he threatens to unleash El on them again. Then they're interrupted by the mean masked kids and have to run off.

There's less of a problem with Six (since her story takes place before the new "Six) and more of an issue with the Bully timeline.

Also, the Suspicious Minds novel tells a different story about El's birth than the show does.

I am really debating on taking the comics and Suspicious Minds out of the overall timeline.
