The title says it all. Which videogames would you like to see made into a movie? And if so, who would you cast? What would the concept be? What's the treatment?

I don't have any ideas at the moment (I just woke up, it's 6am here) but I'd have to say, I'd really like to see this movie:

It would be freaking awesome.

I would really like to see a Tekken movie and a Grand Theft Auto movie, even though they'd both suck.

If they didn't, how would they rule?

Serious question. I mean otherwise, they'd just be rather typical action films, without taking context of the action into consideration.

Dizzy - The Ultimate Adventure.
Can see it now. That little Eggy bugger wandering round saving the day.

Duke Nukem - that would be the awesome-o!

how about House of the Dead? I bet that would make an awesome film.......

*Weeps slowly as memories of Ewe Boll's cinematic afterbirth worms their way across his mind.*

*Loads his shotgun.*

Ewe, I want my money back....

Rocket Knight Adventures! would probably have to be anime. well, i dunno if it would make a good feature but i loved that game soooo much!

Duke Nukem - that would be the awesome-o!

Duke was actually supposed to become a movie. i remember there was even a website setup by 3d realms to pre-empt the movie but no idea what happened to it. though the movie was announced around the same time we first started getting leaks of Duke Nukem Forever and, well, where the hell is that now?!?

There is A Tekken Anime movie
and
a Grand Theft Auto from 1977 (not based on game but still it's one of those so bad it's good films)

Yes it was I remember reading on a lot of sites that The Rock was going to play him but nothing came of it.

I want :

Live action Street Fighter film that doesn't suck
Zelda live action (even if I'm not a fan of of the games)
Star wars Knights of the old republic (even if there was comics ect.. about it it's still a game)
Mario Kart Cgi would be funny

might post a description later

Live action Street Fighter
I would do this like the Mortal Kombat movie. I think it has alot of potential. I would most likely put Jean-Claude Van Damme as director but not star as I think if he directed it like he did "The Quest" it could work very well.

Zelda I would do it with same tone and seriousness of the LOTR movies. Steven Spielberg director as he can do serious films and he can do fantasy so I would be very interested in what he would do with it.

Star wars Knights of the old republic I would have to have Lucas writing and directing it. I think a trilogy of it could be cool with twists like
Main character is Revan
It would be such a huge thing.

Mario Kart CGI like the Turtles movie. There is no way of describing this quiet how i imagined but I'll try. I see Fast and The Furious crossed with Disney's Cars crossed with Wacky races. staring Mario and Friends.

Metroid.

In all honesty, if they make this, the only thing I want to see is Samus being silent throughout the entire film, and at the end, after killing billions of aliens, revealing herself to be a girl to some supporting character.

The potential for hilarity is infinite.

(I imagine Samus only keeps that helmet on just to see the looks on their face at the end. Just because.)

The Legend of Zelda

And not just a Lord of the Rings rip-off either. I want the classic fantasy meets Japanese folklore feel of the recent games and the Final Fantasy series.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

Duke Nukem Forever will be done as soon as George Broussard stops masturbating to John Romero's teenage mail-order bride from Romania.

And not just a Lord of the Rings rip-off either.

When I said Zelda but lord of the rings feel and seriousness is I think it's best way to do it. Not a rip off as such but just a serious fantasy film LOTR , Nania , Harry Potter and more have popped up over the last few years.

While I may not like the LOTR movies or anything Harry Potter I think the serious tone would work well for Zelda.

I feel as thou it's one of those things that if they did it with the tone the game has it would be campy and geared more to kids. The game might is not campy and geared more to kids but as a film it would be.

If they take the serious tone where they know it's fantasy but they make you feel like this is real they could get a few films out of it and be very successful.

I might not be explaining this too well but I hope i did. But at least we agree Zelda as film would be cool.

The only problem is that it doesn't work on everyone who already knows she's a girl. Which is pretty much the entire fan-base for this film.

And those who aren't fans? Well the fans'll get spoiled.

However, I DO approve of a Metroid movie.

Maybe if Samus was a foul-mouthed alien hunter with a bad-*** attitude, but underneath that armor --- is a 14 year-old girl? The image I have in mind is similar to an unused concept of Warren Ellis' called Animal.
