Bone

Yeah, I've been meaning to hunt down the Prequels....

Big Johnson Bone any good?

It was ok, as Proj said (over a year and a half ago...sorry, I guess I never saw this thread). It was much more light-hearted and milder tone to the book (its basically a comedy-adventure, whereas Bone itself is more fantasy-adventure with some comedic elements). Its been awhile since I read it, as all my Bone volumes are in storage (I have BJB and Rose, and the first 8 individual volumes of Bobe, never got around to picking up or reading the 9th).

Maybe I'll finally get around to picking up one of these so I can re-read and complete my collection in one tidy volume. Then I can sell the individual volumes on Ebay later on.

Re: Bone (Jeff Smith): SPOILERS

First off, there's two threads for this, here is the first one. Mods could you merge them please.

Second point.

And this one is going to make Project Squeal like a little girl.

I read Bone, the first volume, last night in about thirty minutes. I love the characterization of the characters, the supposed simpleness of the universe, with it's complexity making the characters all the more interesting. How they seem to find a map written in crayon, which leads them into this strange world and a whirlwind of adventure.

What makes this volume good is the characters. Bone is shown as a caring individual, while his brothers are casted in different light, a jokester happy go lucky type of guy, and an ******* to be blunt about it. But these are just there outer shells, and I'm sure the later volumes will show these characters in different situations, and different light.

I recommend this book for alomst anyone, so far there's mild violence, none that you know they won't get out of, and fantasy creatures that spur the imagination.

I liked this book, and hopefully will be able to find the other volumes at my local library.

I bought the first five volumes at Heroes Con and read them on the flight home. They're scrumptious! I love this title.

STUPID STUPID RAT CREATURES!

Bone is directly responsible for the quiche fixation my brother and I have developed. What can I say, we're impressionable.

THERE ARE COLOR VERSIONS OF THE BONE SERIES?!!!!!

Zomg.
I think they're published by Scholastic.

I'm still waiting for it. It sounds great. :D

I read the one volume edition on the way to San Diego and finished in the hotel.

I loved that it started as this humorous little story that turned into this Lord Of The Rings epic.

It is one of the funniest things I ever read.

The Rat creatures are really the best part.
