honestly i actually really like the idea of it happening closer to aliens as seems to be what was originally the case, but yea i don't really see how you can make the argument that it's not canon lol

Charles Bishop Weyland formed the company known as Weyland Industries. The logo matches Weyland-Yutani's future logo. He dies in 2004. Sometime between 2030 (Predator: Concrete Jungle) and 2055 (Alien: Earth flashbacks), this company merged with the Yutani Corporation. The Yutani Corporation's space and robotic ventures were now recognised as the Weyland-Yutani Corporation.

In 2012, Peter Weyland formed a separate company known as Weyland Corp. Despite the similar name and shared family, this organisation was independent of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. After Peter's death in 2093, Yutani (also known as Weyland-Yutani) absorbed his assets in a hostile takeover, finally uniting both Weyland Industries (pre-2004-post-2030) and Weyland Corp (2012-2099) under one roof.

just a bit of a nitpick, we know that weyland merged with yutani in 2099, not 2093 (would ******* love to see this referenced in the background or whatever of blade runner 2099 but i know with rights issues and whatnot it wont happen), but yes this is certainly my headcanon

Peter died in 2093 and his company was absorbed in the following years. That's accurate.

And considering Peter Weyland's existence, that would also retroactively make him the Mr. Weyland that appeared in Concrete Jungle's ending.

If we want to fix the continuity errors regarding Weyland-Yutani in Alien: Earth, we must accept that Weyland Corp is not a continuation of Weyland Industries. It's the only way to resolve the fact that Weyland-Yutani existed simultaneously with Weyland Corp prior to the 2099 merger.

Thankfully, that actually means that we're applying less speculation than before, since they were developed as completely separate origins to the Weyland side of Weyland-Yutani that both share continuity with Alien and thus each other.

Dutch and Mike are in it. Makes sense to me to reduce the timeline as much as possible to fit with Hunting Grounds' tapes, though obviously you could throw it way in the future and just assume they look young for animation purposes (even though they were taken post-2022, post-2025 respectively). For now, I'd rather not.

btw I was thinking aside from Dutch and Mike, that Naru must be taken soon after the events of Prey, as depicted in the end credits, so bye bye to Prey 2.

Prey 2 could also be a follow up to Killer of Killers too. In the end everyone who killed a Predator is an extra good PREY.

Yes. It's calculated based on how long it's been since Alien: Resurrection came out, so, hypothetically, if Ripley-8 showed up in the movie, she'd have aged correctly.

Though, obviously it's not technically true that the movie is set in 2409. It could, and likely might be, hundreds of years after Alien: Resurrection. We just don't know.
 
Honestly, out of all the "non-canon franchises", I feel that Outland and Death Race would easily be able to fit into this universe without any issue. After all, neither of them have any major issues like Independence Day's having much of Humanity killed by the Harvesters, as well as L.A. being utterly destroyed before 1997 (which would be impossible to reconcile with Predator 2) or Blade Runner having more advanced tech in 2019 that feels outta place in the timeline when compared to The Predator or Predators.

Only thing that keeps them out is, again, them being owned by different companies, but I don't see how that's a major issue.

How is it out of place for Predators? That film isn't even set on Earth and they were taken over a decade prior.
