Damn, that 3 years has gone by quick. He started this, was like the Kang of this timeline discussion and creation. Glad it is still going and may he be remembered long beyond the end of this thread!
Sorry I have been away so not able to respond sooner.
I think my take on this is that the MCU had its sacred timeline and now the branches seen in What If?. The Maguire and Garfield Spider-Men are different universes, not tied in any way to that timeline, they have their own, same for Fox's...
I guess I see it as a less extreme version of what Into the Spiderverse did. The other films aren't a simple deviation because of one small change or time travel. A different timeline is a butterfly flaps its wings effect, which is exactly how What If? is doing it, not the difference between...
Throwing my 2 cents into the alternate timeline/ unvierse conversation. I'm not conviced the What If shows are different unvierses, my logic being that we have confirmation, no longer a spoiler, that previous Spider-Man movie characters are appearing in the MCU. These are completely different...
Haven't posted for a while but I'll give my opinion on Loki for the timeline. I would have the whole thing seperate, the TVA is outside of time entirely and when they travel back or 'forwards' relative to MCU present day, they use their devices to remove all evidence they were even there...
What is the source of this rumour? Looks awesome if true, but hard to believe they managed to time it so there is usually only around a week between releases
Do you have a link for this video as I cannot find it. As you said it was posted on release day, a character saying 'happening tonight' would only be to advertise it is premiering that evening. I cannot see the jump to that meaning 'out of universe' as you said. I would need the video for...
I've not seen it all yet, but it is stated in a lot of places that it has loose ties to the MCU, even if it's just Roxxon stuff. More articles say or hint that it is MCU than say it isn't and including it does no harm to continuity.
It is too easy to argue that it should be on the timeline...
I saw a guy on the comments has been linked as he made a torrent for the film version. I messaged on his post a link to this site yesterday. But you are right, none seem to be aware it has already been done with all the shows included
Can see if the show managed to confuse the timeline anymore than it already has! Hoping for a good send off and maybe even some answers for the Agent Carter series
