DC Extended Universe / DC Universe - Timeline

Ehh, I'll admit, I have no desire to see Aquaman 2 for a variety of reasons (the fact I haven't even seen the first one, that it's gonna be rendered null with the upcoming James Gunn DC Universe reboot that's set to start next year, that the film went through a ton of reshoots and edits that likely made the experience worse, that a known abuser is still in the movie, the whole superhero fatigue vibes [to the point where I've had more enjoyment with watching horror media] etc...), so yeah.

That said, I'm not gonna attack people who enjoy it. I mean, if you like it, you like it. But unfortunately, the film ain't my cuppa. It was the same deal with The Flash, only I actually paid to go see it just out of bile curiosity to see how bad it was.

having just seen the film, it opens with a montage thats said to be "4 years ago" with the end of the first film and arthur jr being born, then when manta gets the black trident it skips 5 months; placing the end of the first aquaman in june 2018 and then adding 4 years and 5 months would place us in november 2022

not sure how popular of an idea this will be but honestly im willing to look at the
4 years as a general reference to 2018, meaning this could be happening anywhere from jan-april 2022, then the 5 months putting the rest in jun-early sep 2022, just for consistency's sake, no other news broadcasts or anything indicated a date from what i could tell and almost all of the climate was extreme areas that i dont really think would be a good gauge for determining a season; i just think that if truly the dceu is now over and the dcu wont be making any overt references back to the dceu other than its select returning cast according to gunn that it would be a lot cleaner to have everything before the flash and use that as a reset point; looking at this movie and the flash post credits it doesn't really seem like aquaman would have time to drink in a bar with barry and sleep in the street if he was caught up with being the king and raising junior

It could just be that this specific film is in the Clooney-Verse.

How about this for simplicity?

Earth-1 (DC Extended Universe)
Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman 1984
Man of Steel
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Suicide Squad
Zack Snyder's Justice League
Aquaman
Shazam!
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)
The Suicide Squad
Peacemaker S1
Black Adam
Shazam!: Fury of the Gods
The Flash

Earth-89 (Burtonverse)
(Superman I-IV, Supergirl)
Batman
Batman Returns
Catwoman
The Flash

Earth-97 (Schumacherverse)
Batman Forever
Batman & Robin

Earth-FP1 (DC Extended Universe/Burtonverse)
The Flash

Earth-FP2 (DC Extended Universe/Schumacherverse)
The Flash
Blue Beatle
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Earth-1 (DC Universe)
Paradise Lost S1
Creature Commandos S1
Waller S1
Superman: Legacy
The Authority
Arkham S1
The Brave and the Bold
Lanterns
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Booster Gold S1
Swamp Thing

Flashpoint is a new composite reality while the DC Universe is the new Earth-1. Complete fiction mind you, I'm just typing my thoughts.

that's definitely an idea, i love to see how different people interpret the multiverse

So do we still think Blue Beetle is set before The Flash? I don't think there is any indication of the year it's set (I will be watching it next week).

i think it depends on how we handle aquaman; if it happening after
the flash
is fine then i think blue beetle can happen june 2023, as you said there really isn't an indication of time other than jaime having just graduated

I think it's a fact that Aquaman 2 is set AFTER The Flash in November of 2022.

Edit: Can't Blue Beetle be set in June of 2022?

I think the film beginning in late December 2022 and the main events happening in June 2023 works better. That way, the opening is still "four years" after June 2018 and the main events are roughly five months later while also being after Blue Beetle, which is also in June 2023. The entire DCEU has been in release order up to this point (aside from the Wonder Woman films which goes without saying) so I feel it would be odd for this to be the outlier.

I thought maybe that as well. Because there has to be at least a month time jump for that UN / Atlantis scene at the end (same time as when the Korean "June" text was visible.)

Aquaman 2 - December 2022, May-June 2023

The prequel comic's 1st story is 8 months prior to December (April 2022) due to Mera knowing about her pregnancy and informing Arthur.

Thoughts?

Having spoken with A Bit of Everything, it seems the date at the end could potentially be June 7th. With this in mind, I believe the events of Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2 may unfold something like this:
  • December 2022: Aquaman 2 beginning
  • Early May 2023 (possibly the weekend of May 5-7): Jaime graduates college
  • Mid-late May 2023: Main events of Blue Beetle and Aquaman 2
  • June 7, 2023: Aquaman 2 end
Colleges hold graduation no earlier than early May from what I've seen, and there seems to be at least some distance between graduation and the events of Blue Beetle. There also seems to be some distance between the main events and ending of Aquaman 2 on June 7th. Thus, the events of both movies can rest around mid-late May.

Aquaman 2 (after the 5 month time jump) occurs in June 2022.

There's a scene towards the end of the film where you see the Korean alphabet for June in the bottom-left of a brief newscast.
Are you sure? I think Aquaman ends in Nov of 2022 doesn't it? June 2018 + 4 years = June 2022 + 5 months = November, 2022. See what you think of this.
