Actually, it would be cool if Namor was a homeless man who believes he's an exile from an Atlantean kingdom that no one believes is real. I know, that sounds like a Millar-esque rip of the Thor concept, but I really believe it could work.

It could definitely work but it really is too close to Thor. I personally would find that really annoying.
