I'm currently reading Peeps, and I'm loving it. It's a new take on the vampire story (in a way) and although at first this was kind of a turn-off when it came to picking up the book, I was absorbed by the way Westerfeld combines biology, parasitology, science with the world of vampires, or "peeps". Has anyone read this book? Or heard of it?

Yes. It's one of those books I recommend to people who like vampires but are turned off by all the "Twilight wannabee teen romance" novels on them. I do, however, warn folks not to eat while they're reading this; the even-numbered chapters feature descriptions of various parasites that can be rather uncomfortable....

Apparently there is a sequel of sorts, though I haven't read it, called The Last Days.

If you haven't picked up any of Westerfeld's other books, including the "Uglies" series, I recommend those as well.
