Do any of you guys have a preference as to buying your comics in a store as opposed to online?

So you only collect new stuff no back issues?

oh, that's true. I do occasionally collect back issues. I get them from ebay almost exclusively. Every once in a while I'll grab some from bins at comic shops if I find one that I've been having a hard time tracking down. But those are almost always more expensive and in worse shape.

Ebay is the best for large lots of back issues. You can usually get entire runs for way cheaper than they would be individually. You just have to search and wait.

Honestly so few are in shops here, even my local comic shop is getting less comics. So now I order online (amazon or ebay) , subscribe to one via post and digital online ones (comixology)

Welcome!

I get new issues from my LCS. This is actually a newer thing for me - there are only about 5 books I get monthlies for, and there was a long period of time where I didn't get monthlies.

I get almost all of my trades from Amazon (or actually The Comic Board Store). On rare occasion I get them from eBay.

For back issues, I usually wait and get them at conventions or I order from MyComicShop.com - that is by far the best selection and best pricing you'll find online.

Up until about a year ago I only bought mine from comixology but then I found a great LCS and now I buy ones I really need to own from them and the rest I just want to read I buy digital.

I would buy back issues but there isn't a large selection in store and I can't fine them online for a reasonable price in the UK.

Finding my local store a year ago has been the best thing EVER! :D

Lately I've been downloading the majority of monthly issues through Comixology on my phone (or one of the publisher specific apps), and buying trades through my LCS on occasion, even having them order them for me. Unfortunately I've had to be very frugal over the past year since my current job barely covers rent and bills, but does allow for some extraneous spending, thankfully.

However, on May 20-21 I'm taking a class in Orlando for property management, and will take the actual state test a few weeks later. Then I'm guaranteed a job somewhere in the state of FL making more than double what I make now on an annual basis, with potential to make up to three to four times my current salary within a few years. And since I don't have any kids or loans that need paying off, I'm going to spend more money on fun: comics, movies, dates, video games, etc.

And once that happens I fully intend to buy more of my trades through the board's store, as well as my LCS wherever I end up (could be Miami, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, etc).

Yeah, I'm using this thread as an excuse to brag. ;)

I completely forgot about Comixology. I thought OP was talking about actual books.

But yeah, I buy much more through Comixology than anywhere else. But I very rarely buy issues at full price. The only titles I buy when they come out and at full price are Batman Incorporated and Saga. I normally buy what I buy during the 99 cent sales.

Well if you guys want back issues I have them and I always add more. Go to comicbookbar.com and use coupon code 6FF950 for 10% off.
