I'm still convinced this is a good story. And the fact that Carey can introduce and characterize new characters without them just appearing and being throwaway makes me happy he's doing this ultimate title.

Nothing big with Ben getting slashed. Just some jokes. A little disappointed in that.

The other things were standard as Seed Nineteen realized they were fighting in a peacefully domain unlike their hinted wartorn world.

But when Thanos showed up... First impressions indeed.

Now they're off inter-dimensional traveling again... teaming up with Seed Nineteen and faced with another giant dinosaur ship.

Very fast paced but doesn't leave you confused like other titles would. I sound like a hypocrite for enjoying this because I didn't like Millar's overthetop run but this seems more mature in it's dealings with the unexplained.

Haven't read it yet, but it sounds good.

Carey seems to have more of a grip on the sci-fi elements of the FF than Millar did. Millar clearly did things in the realm of the fantastic (I mean, the mech that ran off thoughts? The Imaginauts? Magic?) so that might be where your like and dislike come from.

And despite being fast paced, this is a 6-issue arc. So it won't be nearly as rushed as Millar's was.

Uh sorry to disappoint you but I don't think that is Thanos man. I believe that it is Gallowglass, but at first I thought it was Ronan. I realized it wasn't Ronan because he didn't have his Universal Weapon and because well.....they called him Gallowglass. If it is Ronan than I am grateful because he looks awesome in my eyes.

Anyone think that a dragon/space ship is a bit odd? Still cool though.

4/5....keep it up Carey.

This sounds good. The biggest danger with introducing new characters was if you screwed up with that, no would care about them nor the arc if they're being focused on. When I read and love this, I would be very excited about the future issues. With this being a 6-issue arc, it has to be good.

Yeah. I was kinda disappointed too. But was it just me or when ben got slashed---it looked like he actually had human skin underneath all the rocks? :?

I'm sure it was probably nothing but it was just something that stuck out to me.

I like Carey's style on this title. It's starting to work well. The first issue might've thrown people off...but this issue gets it all on track and eases us into the groove of things.

Plus another binus to me was that Ferry's art looked a little more smoother than last issue. In the last issue he had a heavy outlinging effect going on with the characters that made them look more like sketches than finished products. But this issue smoothed all that out and the art was noticably better.

You're right, and MWoF is mistaken. It is Gallowglass. The Ultimate versions of Ronan and Thanos haven't appeared yet. I think Ronan will show up in #35, and Thanos in #36.

No more or less odd than when we saw it in the N-Zone arc being used by Nihil.

Fun fact, gallowglass is a term for a caste of mercenary warriors in Scotland.

Either way, we're going to be seeing Thanos and Ronan in the future, so I have no problem with this.

I really dug the issue. Carey's sharp with his pen, but what really gets me is the art. Real stylized, real slick, and the designs for Gallowglass and his soldiers are incredibly badass.

Booo!! Who the hell is gallowglass? Why not make it Thanos? The dude is probably the most badass powerhouse in the Ultimate Universe.

I believe Gallowglass in Thanos' son. At least, that's what the solicits make him out to be. I believe Carey said he was going to keep bait-and-switching villains, each one more badass than the one before, until he gets to Thanos, the biggest badass of them all. I assume Ronan will be introduced next, then Thanos.

I didn't give two ****s about Thanos. I'm pretty pysched about this now.

My interest in this arc doubled after reading Annihilation and becoming interested in all things Cosmic Marvel. This issue is better than #33, and if the trend continues, I think this is an arc I will buy in HC whenever it becomes available.

But only if Ronan and Thanos are badass.:D

I am quite sure that both characters, being previous Marvel characters, will be quite badass when they appear.

That would be pretty cool if GG was his son because Ronan is his son as well.

Hmmmmm, would be intresting. Unless if Gallowglass is Thanos' grandson by Ronan.
Actually I am pretty sure that Ronan is a pretty young person, maybe the age of Reed....or maybe not. He didn't look that old in the concept art.

We don't know how these cats age.

:D It would be kind of silly if we jump up one generation of the same family and each time, the father turns out to be that much more hardcore than the son. "Just wait 'til my father gets home...."

Or mother. Wait! I wonder who his mother is.....

They need to fix up Silver Surfer.
