I want more Indie comics to read. That aren't some of the bigger companies(DC, Marvel, Dark House, Image...)

But I don't know what's good or not. I've been reading Devi from Virgin Comics and am starting to download an interesting series called Mouse Guard. I don't how well the side companies do trades...

Any suggestions?

Judge Dredd 2000 AD can be pretty cool.

not all his comics are good but there is alot of cool ones.

Any with the Dark Judges is pretty cool. But i'm not sure if you get the 2000 AD comics or just the DC version (imo good but not as good) in usa.

I'm vaguely sure that there's a thread for this waaaaaaaaay back but I think it got pruned, unless someone else (Baxter? Did you start it?) can find it. I did a trawl but couldn't, but if someone's got a link, we can add in the old recs, because the only one I remember is 100 Bullets.

And 100 Bullets is a Vertigo comic, so that doesn't really count.

I'm interested in Mouse Guard though. It looks fun.

I expect Rhyo to come in here with a few recommendations, she is the Queen of the Indy Comics, after all.

That is true. I want her opinions.

Yeah Hero Squared is brilliant.

I'd also recommend more of the Virgin line; I think these guys are gonna be big. Ramayan 3392 AD and 7 Brothers are both rather good. It's also nice to see a bit of diversity in comic creators.

And come on, Garth Ennis and John Woo? I couldn't be more sold unless it came with a free naked woman.

I tried the indie thing and it just fustrated me. Weak stories...weird art. Everyy now and then you'd find something actually pretty good......but only to be let down by delay or discontinuation due to company bankrupt.

I want to read all of the Virgin line.

Alias Comics has a couple good ones......expect, they have delay problems like crazy. they had a decent title called Sixgun Samurai, it was 'enjoyable' to read. with decent story and plot, but really nice drawing and inking. and yes inking makes a difference.

Lullaby:Wisdom Seeker is also good, but riddled with massive delays as well
