Robert Kirkman talks on Ultimate X-Men @ Newsarama.

I think that Ultimate Cable IS definitely Ultimate Wolverine... but he's also Ultimate someone else and possibly someone else beyond that. Call him an Ultimate Mutant Frankenstein's monster, if you will.

Honestly, I think that would kick some serious ***. Plus, it would explain quite easily why he is so able (with the CABLE... HARHARHARHARHAR!) to make all of the modern-era Ultimate X-Men his *****es. He IS all of them, so he knows all of their weaknesses.

Probably won't be the case, but it would be an interesting plot twist to see that sort of thing develop.

If he is just a plain 'ol future Ult. Wolverine, I still think Kirkman's X-run thusfar is excellent.

I like and trust Kirkman, he didn't make anything before that could shake my trust. So I'm goingo to wait and see what will happen in Cable. So far it's really good.

I like that idea a lot, actually. Don't have a problem with that at all... Nice thinkin' there, Will!

Thank you, sir.

Most people I've mentioned that to have responded with a "what... that's very outlandish and impossible."

I guess, to them, time travel, Spider-clones and alien fleets are perfectly fine... but when you mention "Frankenstein X", you've just gone off the deep end.

You're a good kid.

Yeah, I like that idea... Or the more down to Earth explaination, which is that Cable is just a suiped up Batman-esque character... Just a guy with a healing factor and a bunch of gadgets.

I can't say I'm for the "frankenstein" idea.
I've been thinking about it and me, too, really. I mean, why would they even want to create a mutant like him? What would be the purpose and why would they give him memory from Wolverine? I don't know. Just doesn't really make sense.

I'm sure I mentioned the mutant Frankenstein idea before. Colossus's arm, Wolverine's claws, among other things. They could have done it as a test or something.

He could have Wolverine's memries because he was created by Weapon X after the second arc in UXM... This would explain why we're in Denmark right now, too. Because Cable was "born" there.

Sure, I guess he could be the cone, but I would also like to see the Frankenstein idea... It could definitely happen, too, because they already did something of a Frankenstein thing in the "Return to Weapon X" arc.

What do you mean I guess he could be? I thought that's what you meant. Otherwise you're asking for even more Wolverine garbage to be piled on. I think Kirkman's best direction would be the clone idea. No Healing factor caused by any impections that occured. Otherwise hold off the clone subplot and bring in Ultimate X-23 in the future but sewing together old X-men isn't flying with me at all. Where in weaponX did they do it before?

Chill man, its just the Wolverine clone from the future, not the actual Wolverine...oh, wait.

:arrgh:

I'm actually totally cool with that.

That's not a bad idea and I'm totally cool with it.

With one statement---you have totally ok'd the reason the time spiders didn't interfere and made it not actually Wolverine.

I am totally ok with that idea.

I'd be ok with it if they explained that they genetically modified him to be smarter and taller than the real Wolverine. Oh, and make him never use the word bub. Then I'm ok with Cable being a Wolvie clone.

Much, much smarter.
