Happily Never After (spoilers)

It sounds like a rehash, but not necessarily a bad one. Something I'd watch if it came on, but not pay to see.

Why are there always obnoxious sidekicks? See, in Shrek Donkey was okay because they acknowledged that he was obnoxious and made a joke out of it. But here, it sounds like the sidekicks are just straightforward obnoxious.

Also... is anyone else a little sick of CGI movies? I just don't find them visually appealing. They don't repulse me, but I don't find them interesting at all--unlike the old art, which was so pretty that I'd stare at it so hard I completely lost track of the plot.

it's just rolling with the times thou. CGI is the new art in this the computer age. yes there are bad ones but there are also serious ones like final fantasy the movie and soon Turtles.

for me films like shrek , over the hedge , this ect... they are just modern way of doing animated movies. Now when a good one comes out like toy story that has real characters and real story to it like the old ones e.g pinochio and snow white and lion king. then it is good.

They just need to learn to make them better and more original. While I do agree with there is alot I just think that give it 4-5 years and there will be no more paper and pen feeling cartoons and more of these as they are somewhat cheaper to do , easier to make hd

The signs of this been the new animated movie slandered for me at least came when bugs bunny and micky mouse both had 3d style films. They are the icons of the animated world and so in doing so they have passed the torch from 2d to 3d

give it time and the films will be better.

This seems really funny, but I thought the same thing about Hoodwinked and I heard that, as a movie, it wasn't very funny. Hopefully with a better team this one will be different.

Much like Sprite based video games I want 2-d cell based animation to make a comeback. It can be so god damned beautiful if they put a little work into it...

JUT DO A LITTLE WORK! ITS NOT A FLAW IN THE MEDIUM ITSELF!

Goddammit, I'm so sick of CGI movies.

"Hey look, it's a spastic animal with a silly voice spouting ridiculous pop culture terminology while 'Shake Your Groove Thing' plays in the background! It's so funny and original!"

YES!

Somebody needs to forcibly insert a Miyazaki film into one of these movie producers' eyes.

I was about to pooh pooh this movie, but I suppose anything is better than Ever After, that moronic Ultimate take on Cinderella starring Drew Barrymore.

 *has that on dvd*

I remember when we only got one CG movie a year... A good quality Pixar one. Those were the days, huh?
Fifty years from now people will be pooh poohing Pixar movies because they aren't as good as the old ones but the only evidence they'll be basing this statement on is that future Pixar films will feature sexually suggestive subliminal messages.
