I was watching an episode of Batman: the Animated Series with Mr. Freeze and I thought to myself: before B:TAS, Mr. Freeze was a cheesy gimmick villain named Mr. Zero. Since DC has been taking a lot of old ideas and "revitalizing" them, could we be seeing Freeze become Mr. Zero again? Or least introduce Mr. Zero as a seperate character?

Am I thinking too much?

Mr. Zero should be introduced as a visitor from a parallel university that doesn't exist, called Nill. He should also speak in binary code.

Grant Morrison should write it.

That sounds utterly retarded. But Morrison is writing so it'll end up being good.

I'm pretty sure he was Mr. Freeze long before B:TAS. He got much, much cooler in it tho.

Yeah, let Mr. Zero die.

I remember Mr. Freeze getting killed (it took everything I had not to say "iced") in the second Robin mini after only, like, a two panel appearance. He was seriously NOBODY before Dini/Timm.

I think they changed the name in the Adam West Batman series. Freeze owes a lot to television.

Honestly, the only plausible way I can see Mr. Zero back is: he's a two-bit thug that found a spare freeze suit and decided to make a living off it, but highly incompotent. And to make things interesting, Freeze wants him dead for some contrived reason involving Nora.

I love the Silver Agee and would kill to have comics be exactly how they were back then.

No lie.

I love the whole silver age nostalgia stuff, when they get characters from the era and tell mature stories about (Justice is a good example).

But the actual Silver Age stories themselves? Bah! Bah I say!

Yeah, I remember that. I was just saying they changed his name before that.

I like the Silver Age, to an extent. Pick up a few Showcases (especially Jonah Hex or the upcoming legion) for some great Silver stuff.

The Silver Age was all about plot! Mostly at the expense of character. But Silver Age Marvel changed all that and towards the middle to the end of the 60's DC was catching up.

Just about every Silver Age DC story was about some mystery or clever little twist. Everything was in service to the story. It was basically the definition of a plot.

Now, I can understand why poeple prefer comics these days to what they had back then. But you certainly can't say they're better plotted now.

Who said anything about how the stories back then were plotted?
