So here was something I've been thinking on. What would Ultimate X-Force be? So I thought some more and came up with 2 suggestions:

1) This would take place during the All Different arc. Cyclops disbands the X-men, leaving many of them alone and homeless. Scott and Jean, after a few weks of being together not as X-Men, run into Bobby. Bobby complains how much it sucks now that he has no place to go. Warren also meets them, and the four mourn over their fallen mentor. Scott, realizing that he had ignored Xavier's goal in creating the X-Men, tells the other 3 that they should carry on the Prof. mission. Thus comes X-Force. Soon Beast shows up, and everyone is in disbelief. He then proves its the real him, and the other four settle down. Meanwhile, the other X-Men go to Emma Frost's school. Nightcrawler ends up in SHIELD custody.

Nightcrawler wakes up, and confronts a babbling Sinister, who continues talking about his master coming. This would then go into an Apocolypse arc, with the resurrected Beast becoming Dark Beast.

OR...

2) X-Force is a behind-the-scenes group created by Xavier that Syndicate is a part of. Those others that Xavier tells them to go to are the other members of X-Force.

I'd have Ultimate X-Force being a mutant military group, created by SHIELD. It would be a good way to bring back Karma.

that's a smart idea, especially with that panel of Bush and Fury talking about something in #79. Perhaps, with Xavier down, they're going to do their own X-Men team, thus X-Force.

Well, we'll see. They already tried their own and that went straight to hell. So it's going to take some damn convincing to try that again.

In a Mutants and Masterminds RPG I ran, X-force was their attempt at a Mutant Task FOrce, the difference being that this time they weren't just a PR group, they were military.

Seriously, between the X-Men and the Academy of Tomorrow we have enough mutant teams for the UU.

I rather like having all the mutants in the UU in one book and not 3+ books.

I completely agree. I don't want the huge X-pansion that occured in 616 in the UU. It created too many interlocking storylines to keep up with!

I agree with Grimace, if they had an X-Force have Karma in it and have it runned by Dugan since he's in charge of SHIELD's Mutant Ops Division. Maybe add a younger Bishop, Blink, Domino, Thunderbird, Callisto, Sunfire and Wolfsbane since they had a cameo when they were searching for Emma Frost's team maybe SHIELD recruited them without the threat to put the charges in their heads. And I'd love to see Mimic.

My original idea from the first Ultimate Cable thread... which I suppose still works aside from the fact that it would create two Ultimate Cables, essentially.... was this (it was originally going to be a fanfic, but I think I got one chapter in and didn't really know how to progress. Unfortunately its not on my current computer so I'll give you the highlights. (Edited to fit continuity)

- John Wraith worked under the highly decorated Colonel Nathan Dayspring in Vietnam when he first witnessed his commander's tremendous power when it came to Telekenetic abilities. Under attack each of Dayspring's bullets found their targets, but when a hidden mine exploded, Wraith found himself lifted off the ground, hovering while Dayspring's eye glowed, surging with power. Wraith then witnessed Dayspring lose control of his abilities, and he threw Wraith far into the Jungle, when he returned he found dayspring in the midst of utter chaos, with their entire troop crushed to death and all their weapons destroyed. Wraith reported the incident and Dayspring was detained indefinitely by the military. Wraith later headed the team in charge of handling superhuman presences in the world, but he was always afraid of Col. Dayspring, and never released him.

- After Wraith's apparent death, Nick Fury goes to Dayspring and tells him while the Government will not stand for him being pardoned, there is an alternative to life in prison... Dayspring will train selected mutants detained in the new Camp X-Factor to track down and incapacitate dangerous mutants around the world as Top Secret agents of SHIELD, either recruiting them or killing them. Doing this he will regain his rank as Colonel, and will eventually earn his freedom.

- Karma is appointed liason to Fury's office for Project X-Force... Cable is given Custody of a group of ragtag ruffians. Jamie Madrox, The Multiple Man. Forge. Shatterstar (who would later be revealed to be Longshot's younger brother from Genosha, mirroring the fact that 616 Shatterstar is a clone of Longshot from the future of the Mojoverse with enhanced fighting abilities). Maria Callasantos, the mutant serial killer Feral. Tabitha Smith, Meltdown. James Proudstar, Warpath.

- During the first mission they would track down Wade Wilson, now genetically augmented with an upgraded derivitive of Wolverine's healing factor by Dr. Cornelius. This has basically continually rewritten his braincells, giving him no short-term memory... Turning him into the babbling Merc with a Mouth we know and love. Deadpool would then become a member of the team... as much as a deranged psychopath can be.

- The team would then probably go up againt the Mutant Terrorist known as Stryfe and his Mutant Liberation Front... Stryfe would turn out to be Dayspring's estranged son, Nathan Jr., leading to all sorts of conflicts. Stryfe's son, Tyler, going by the name Genesis would then join X-Force after his grandfather killed his father, adding all sorts of fun dynamics.

- If I were writing this longterm I would introduce Wolverine as a recurring character who grows to view Dayspring as a father figure, to the point where he might choose to adopt his persona upon his death, including the old nickname, Cable.

Its sort of Ultimate Thunderbolts, but I think it retains enough of the militaristic nature (and primary cast, excluding Domino and Cannonball) of the original to work.

The Dr's idea is very good, and I'd settle with it... or with Emma's kids being forced to work for the goverment somehow, or maybe have them form the group outside the goverment, under Emma's care. I'm not sure she's agree, but I'd like it anyway.

How about this....

Sheild shut down Frosts school because of the Magnetic north troubles.
Frost goes to the x-men, to complain and because she has nothing else.
Meanwhile Fury offers all of her students the oppertunity to train for his new government funded mutant group, X-Force.
Havok and Polaris decline and also decline a place on the x-men, instead they wander off to eventually form the vigilante group X-Factor, named so because most of it's members (Multiple-Man, Forge, Wolfsbane, etc.) are escapees from said mutant prison.
Northstar is deported back to Canada, and Cannonball and Sunspot decide to except Furys offer.
I would leave out Cable and Biship, because of the Cable arc of late.
Bring in Warpath, Meltdown, Shatterstar, Feral, and Syran, with explanations as to there origins and place in the group, and have Dugan be there leader, similar to Furys position with the ultimates.

Thats it, maybe with some major and/or miner tweeks.

I support this, but would have to be worked with. I believe that Ultimate Deadpool may be a mutant with the same superior healing factor that 616 Deadpool has. Maybe it was his cybernetic mind keeping him sane? Maybe now that Shadowcat destroyed his cybernetic implants, he's crazy?
