There was going to be a fifth?!

Well, not no more. From LitG:

New, Mighty, Classic, Initiative - four Avengers ongoing titles, is that enough? I understand there was going to be another, that would star both New and Mighty Avengers, going up against increasing levels of threats, The first arc would have had them taking on the dead Goliath, whose corpse had been possessed.

Sadly, the series was forgotten when writer Sean McKeever was signed up to DC exclusiveness. I do hope that particular plot can be recycled though!

So the "big death" of a c lister character no one remember ofthe civil war mini is already being brought back?

And a fifth avengers book? *Looks at UC cartoon* Damn Houde.

Or actually, I guess maybe the YA would fall under Iniative now.

Yeah, I was gonna say that since i read somewhere that they were training under the initiative program and could 9 was the only other name that stood. onyl cuz of the overglorifed preview comic that is CW: Initiative. 5.99?

Why don't they just take a big, steaming dump on Goliath's grave?

See, this is why I refuse to buy more than one book per character or team unless they have proven themselves worthy through the persistent praise of someone I know to have good taste. Because they'll wring every last bit of cash from the Avengers franchise but cancel Young Avengers for the Initiative, aka Stark's Buttmonkeys.

Actually, the Young Avengers are anti-reg and I don't think they were captured. I think only Stature, who switched sides, would be a main character in the Initiative. The rest of the YA would only show up to be chased around by the Initiative, probably the younger members.

Young Avengers was "cancelled" when Heinberg decided he didn't want to do it anymore. I have no idea why they don't have someone else writing it.

Not to sound like a meanie, but for some reason I am actually totally unsurprised about Heinberg not being able to commit to it for very long.

On an ******* note, at least he's better than Bryan Singer, who can't even commit to STARTING a deal.

Zombie Goliath?

I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I guess they think people can't get enough of the Avengers.

I wish someone would tell them we can.

Yeah i mean hasnt he suffered enough?

also it sounds like a horrible plot and it would seem it would tie in with Ghost rider(lucifer possesong corpses and all that)

It's a prophecy! You wait, they'll annouce the one I did. HAH!

Zombie Goliath?

I feel it's long overdue. I mean, he's been dead for about six months now.

i'm sure it's between "Iron May" and "Doctot Octomagnetopus"

Nothing should get between those lovers.

I would totally support a fifth Avengers book if it was "Avengers in Narnia."
