Marvel held some sort of creative powwow this week and Wizard Universe interviewed some of the key players. A lot of them at the meeting seem very psyched about...the UU! Granted, they do sort of have a stake in building excitement, but it was nice to hear they have plans.

Check it

is that RR/Magneto thing Ultimate? I couldn't tell. what did Bass say?

The Reed Richards thing HAS to be about the Cosmic Cube.

As for Magneto, well. . .he is doing something, that's for sure. I'm glad everybody seems so excited about the UU. Maybe I'll start picking it up again instead of reading them at the shop.

I was excited about the Ultimate Universe 3 years ago. Y'know, when it was good.

Damn, that Bass thread kicks ***.

Bass should be in a place in power in this universe....somewhere. Seems idiots run the world while people like Bass have whole forms preach about how awesome they are.

AXEL ALONSO (senior editor): "Besides my own books, I'm also very excited about the plans for Ultimate X-Men, because it's something I've wanted us to do for at least a year. That the plan to get there is interesting is just gravy for me. The launch pad for Ultimate X-Men for the future really intrigues me. No matter how we get there, it's a home run. I should actually be worried because I edit [the X-Men titles] and I'm going to have some stiff competition."

That's good, because I'm really digging UXM right now. It's the only X-Book worth the print fees.

I hope they mean Kirkman's plans and not Singer, who's not even involved with anything X-Men anymore.

UXM- The best the Ultimate Universe has to offer now.

Loeb really is meh, Bendis is spread too thin. I would love to see these guys pull back and focus on smaller things and allow more writers into the cabal that seems to decide where all things Marvel go.

Marvel had to pay a lot for Loeb and everything I've read of his is really either bad or so on meh that it's not worth talking about. Which is a shame because everyone said he was a great writer at DC...

I'm glad someone is excited about it, because I sure ain't.

Well gosh, that's big news.

I mean, we'll never see the day when Marvel starts doing PR saying, "We're really excited about the DC Universe."

That would be interesting though.

The reed richard magneto project is probably what all that project pegasus is about and involving elements from cosmic cube and magneto?? which i'm guessing will come from loebs side either with peitro and scarlet witch in ultimates or in ultimate wolverine.

The only stuff i've read of loeb was the stuff at DC batman/superman for all seasons. But I got the impression some of his marvel stuff wasn't bad either daredevil:yellow...what else has he written for marvel apart from the other 2 colour mini's and new wolverine?

Some of Fallen Son, Spider-Man: Blue, Daredevil: Yellow, and Hulk: Grey according to Wikipedia. He's also worked on the TV shows Lost and Heroes.

Edit: Um... yeah, Superman and Batman aren't Marvel. I swear I actually read your post!
