4. Claire Danes
5. Mandy Moore (I think she has the potential to be a great actress one day.)

Actresses suffer from having to be beautiful. Beautiful women are more sharply defined than beautiful men. The popular notion is that women get ugly as they get older while men get more ,something that is good, I can't think of the right word. So that means less actresses. It sucks, because acting is one of those things that the more experience you have the much better you are at it. Or something like that. This was written quickly.

Gael García Bernal

Bernal, in a few more years, once he's pulled off another few fantastic movies (which I have a great confidence that he will), will be on my top five. But as is, he's probably in my top 15.

Brando too, but he'll probably pop up there once I get around to seeing more of his early stuff.

Sidney Poitier
Peter Sellers
Zero Mostel
Gene Wilder
Richard Pryor
Rick Moranis
Martin Short
Steve Martin
Jackie Chan
Christopher Lloyd

I'm a fan of Gene Wilder, but I saw a list of "The 100 Best Acting Performances of All Time" a while ago, an't remember where from.....perhaps AFI or Bravo or something....and they had his Fredrick Frankenstein as #9.

:dazed:

The 9th best acting performance of all time? He was ahead of Rainman, Taxi Driver, Forrest Gump, Ray, etc. I mean..... what the hell? It was also the highest comic performance on their, as in, ahead of anything Peter Sellers ever did.

Dude, it was brilliant.

He was good... and that performance could be on the list somewhere, preferably in the 80s or 90s, but Number freaking 9? Ahead of Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump? De Niro in Taxi Driver? Hoffman in Rain Man? Jamie Foxx in Ray? Pacino in Godfather Part II? Gah...

And the best comic performance ever? Ahead of Peter Sellers in The Party... or anything? Gaaaahhh....

And his names gene wilder.

D'oh! I always do that. Editing...

I didn't mean to imply that you did. Sorry. It just seems anytime some actor plays one then people think its good. Radio is a great example of this. There are lot's more that I don't feel like remembering right now.

Believe me, I'm a strong advocate of SGATOTB("stop giving all the Oscars to biopics!").

But Ray and Gump are still two of the best performances ever, IMO.
