Re: Marvel.com's preview of Ultimate X-Men #84

Yea, I hope Pyro's uniform becomes a little more official, though. His costume currently is saddening.

Man, I am chomping at the bit for this issue! I'm so indescribably happy about the new line up. Can't wait.

I know this was posted in the NJF thread, but it should be somewhere in the Ultimate X forum. Mystery revealed: Psylocke! My excitement is ever growing.

That's awesome. I think this is an incredible change! Can't wait to see all the personalities.

Cool! Wolverine's got his original Ultimate costume back!

...

If only he would get his long hair back from the Vaughan run since I hate the "Wolverine hair" even in 616. Who the **** has their hair grow like that? NO ONE so he ****ing gets up each morning and MAKES it look like that!

...

Sorry, I never liked that hair and the first one to draw it like that needed to get a CAT scan.

I would love the long hair back, too.

Re: Marvel.com's preview of Ultimate X-Men #84

You know what really has me happy about this new team?

For the first time since Bendis introduced him, I have the sense that a writer has plans for Ultimate Angel!

He has some pretty uninteresting powers and even when most people think of Angel...they think of Archangel from a storyline from way back in the late 80s (I believe maybe early 90s but I think it was from the 80s back when X-Factor was the original 5 X-Men)

So Ultimate Angel was really a character I never cared for (that one Longshot story being the only exception) and the writers largely seemed to have nothing planned to do with him.

But Kirkman seems different. Bishop didn't want him on the team for some reason and the team really has a strong array of powers which Bishop is leading. And here's Angel...

I'm really happy to see Angel in the group and can't wait to see what Kirkman has in store!

(Only thing that would disappoint me would be turning his skin blue and making him a Horseman. Ultimate Angel needs something a bit more then a rehash of a 20+ year old story which is really his only call to fame.)

Looks like a cross between Riptide and Joseph... threw me for a loop. So, anyone want to take a guess at what his connection to Cable is?

Re: Marvel.com's preview of Ultimate X-Men #84

Wow.

Kirkman, I will say, is shaping up to be my favorite writer on this title. They certainly replaced Vaughan with the right person... Despite the mediocre Magical. That I can forgive Kirkman for... Especially now that we've got such interesting and new things going on.

By the way, I'm thinking Stryfe is actually Cable, not Wolverine. The Sentinels are attached to Weapon X or something, they give Stryfe claws because he's got a healing factor and, when he becomes Cable, he acts as Wolverine to get into his head... Because that's the most reasonable way to beat Logan.
