Since it was covered in dream casting I figured it won't get done again and I had a kinda cool idea (I thought) so I ran with it , It's ghostbusters + Extreme in one.

Ghostbusters III : The Next Generation.

Plot

Years after they stopped Vigo the Ghostbusters have retired , each one is of on there. Peter and Dana are even married! But when the paranormal activity in the city reaches an all time high one thing is clear , The ghostbusters are needed.

The originals suit up once more but after their first time back on the saddle they realise they are too old and out of shape to do this any more. A new team is needed to stop this threat. They search everywhere and eventually put together a new team.

An old friend of the team even helps. Professor Sterling. Little do they know Professor Sterling is using their containment unit to send all the energy they collect to an evil Pharaoh. So the more they bust the more his resurrection is at hand!

What happens when the Pharaoh is resurrected? The old GhostBusters and New Ghostbusters team up! 8 Ghostbusters vs the evil Pharaoh and some old friends he's brought back ……. Can anyone say Stay Puft and Vigo?

The film will end with the originals saying goodbye and the new ones remaining as a passing of the torch and the start of new franchise of Ghostbuster films.

Cast

Original actors reprise there roles.

New people

Eduardo Rivera – Freddy Rodríguez – The cocky , lazy character that has a kind of "will they won't they" going on with Kylie , Despite extremely selfless at times he does display a kind caring side sometimes. Freddy Rodríguez would be great in this role.
Roland Jackson – Walter Jones – The mechanic of the group. He is the one out of the new one's that understand the equipment they use and even helps Egon with upgrades and repairs. Walter Jones would be very good in this role.

Garrett Miller – Jake Gyllenhaal – Do not let his handicap fool you , he may be in a wheel chair but Garrett is very capable of living up to the ghostbusters legend. The actor playing him needs to be serious and head strong but with a sense of humour, He does not need to feel like a victim and that's why Jake Gyllenhaal is Garrett Miller

Kylie Griffin – Anna Paquin – She is the goth/punk Member of the new team who unlike the others actually has paranormal knowledge BEFORE been a ghostbuster. She can even match Egon at times on the paranormal side. I think Anna Paquin fits this role in every way,
[
B]Professor Sterling – Alan Rickman[/B] – This is a new character I've designed just for Alan Rickman. He is the owner of the local museum and close friends with the original ghostbusters. But what secret is he hiding?
The Pharaoh – Stuart Townsend – He is the main villain of this story. His tomb was brought in to the local museum and thanks to the ghostbusters by mistake is resurrected and determined to destroy new york.

Notes :
  • Poster old one i did in previous thread
  • Trailer = done for fun , mostly old ghostbuster stuff but some new stuff too to make it teaser to my film , new ghostbusters don't appear as they would in trailer , teaser was to make fans know it's not a remake and they are back , same with teaser poster.
  • Bad guys = a cross between the relationship in second film with painting and the end of ghostbusters I with the pyramids as it is starting franchise off again and i thought this would be a cool way to do (also why old ones come back)

I think the plot's pretty good but not so much the new cast.... except for Alan Rickman of course.

Edit: Just watched the trailer. Loved the use of new footage of the now-older originals. Whose narration was that?

It was from the Alvin and the chipmunks trailer  I just removed the line about music

but glad you liked the trailer and plot. It was hard trying to cast the Extreme ones but I think i got them good.

Doom it's one cast who was right i felt for the part. Calm down

Anybody else like/dislike the plot , cast and trailer?

My thoughts exactly.

Mole, Walter Jones can't act. It's just something he cannot do. Not to mention, none of the new cast you have are actually comedians. You're basically just casting for a superhero movie, when this is absolutely not a superhero movie.

Most have been in comedies though. E.g Freddy Rodríguez was in scrubs. I'll admit the bad guys are not but I thought it would go well for a comedy/action to have good villains.

Look at men in black. Tommy lee Jones in that was serious and it worked which people always say MIB is kind of like a modern ghostbusters.

I was not casting for a superhero movie I was casting for a more serious comedy/action film like ghostbusters. Extreme was more serious than "real" so I figure casting Extreme you need more serious

Tommy Lee Jones was absolutely a comedy character in both of the films. It's only in that mediocre cartoon that he was a dead-serious character.

The Men In Black cartoon was more serious than the movie and yet they continued with the comedy in the second movie for some bizarre reason.

Average filmgoers don't want to see a 'serious' Ghostbusters film.

Fair enough , I feel a more serious one would work but I'll agree to disagree as we are entitled to our own opinions

Actually they kind of do, films all around are getting more serious, with a few exceptions. MIB 2 sucked balls cause it lost the seriousness that the original had, a ghostbusters films can't be all serious and to make it only goofy, it would not turn out good. You need a healthy mix of both

Damn just noticed the last shot of trailer has been cut a bit.

The mummy shot was a little longer and I had added the venom roar sound from Spider-man trailer (same reason I added mummy shot last i wanted the venom monster at the end roar feel to it for people to think "ohhhhh" if it had been real)

That sucks , but still i'm happy with trailer

*peeks in*

Black Power Ranger still there? Yep.

*sighs out of shame and leaves again*

Admit it your obsession with him and Power Man = they are secretly your role models and you are just saying you hate them so no one figures it out.:p

I'm on to you doom

The "Ghostbusters are out of shape so they have to get younger help" angle never flew with me. When were they ever "in shape" to begin with?

That's true.

But there is been like they are in original films and like they are now. Now they are older , fatter , less in shape.

I like Stuart Townsend as "the Pharaoh." I think the third Ghostbusters movie should be like J.J. Abram's Star Trek movie - something of a reboot, something of an origin....Because in this case, all the actors are too old, and I doubt they'd all come back to reunite for a movie (yeah, I know, they're doing a video game).

I still don't get why. If Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stalone can come out of retirement to do very physical roles again, why the hell can't the four guys come back to do Ghostbusters? I mean, what's physical about it? The packs? Come on, now. They could easily make lightweight versions of those packs nowadays. And, even if they didn't, that's not exactly very physical.
