In the Ultimate Universe, which costumes worked, which ones didn't and what should be changed?

Magneto had a good costume, less busy then his 616 counterpart. Rhino also looks pretty cool. I also liked Ultimate Sinister's cool.

I loved the X-men's costumes, they worked much better and were very realistic. I also loved that they had the same color
costumes, made it seem very uniformal.

I loved all the costumes in Ultimates 2

Ultimates 3 sucked balls, not just in wardrobe.

Omega Red sucked. Times Twenty!

I like UU Deadpool's costume, I like the Ults/X-Men/FF costumes

costume's in general in the UU have been good up until about a year or so ago now they're usually the same as MU counterparts

Most of them sucked.

The ones that worked well were the ones that took away the stupid, unpractical elements. Doc Oc's trenchcoat was a major improvement over his earlier green jumpsuit *shudder*. Ultimate Hawkeye's original costume was MUCH better than his 616. Electro naked is a huge improvement over the retarded lightning bolts coming out of his face.

The X-Men costumes were just as horrible as 616. Particularly Cyclops.

Exactly.

Anything remotely original or different was kind of meh or whatever.

Anything awesome was pretty much the old 'cheesy' look stripped down to something.

Of course, that just means cheesy (Doc Ock) is easy to be improved upon, while the X-Men costumes don't really have anywhere to go.

For the most part the only costume change I liked in the UU was Thor and Iron Man.

Espcecially Iron Man. Pre Joe Mad.

Now if I could just get an artist to give me Ultimate Goat Legs WITH his regal wardrobe from Frightful....I'd have the greatest Doom ever.

Okay, but how could they be improved?

I think one problem is there are very few creepy looking villains in the UU, Ultimate Sinister looks creepy, Mole man looks pretty creepy (though that's due to his physical appearance than his outfit). Compared that to Batman's rogues gallery, many of them look very creepy, especially the Timm versions of these characters.

Also they should have changed the color scheme for several villains. The only reason that most Spidey villains wear green is because in the 60s green ink was cheap and black ink was expensive, that's no longer the case, so Vulture and Scorpion should wear black costumes.

I've said this before, but in the case of the X-Men - if you even have to do uniforms which I don't think they do - you go with something like the leather jackets in Grant Morrison's New X-Men.

Black doesn't make a uniform scary....

That was the point. They weren't superhero uniforms. They were "people" uniforms, to show the world that they were not threats.

Great topic, by the way. We haven't had any good comic discussion like this in a while.

What are you talking about, of course it does!

Look at Power Man.

Clearly, it's the black part makes him scary.

He looks like a vampire on Buffy.

He looks like an alternate paint job for Gorilla Grodd.
