Villains and taking over the world

Lots of marvel villains want to take over the world, but how many have a valid motive or a real vision for the world once they conquered it? Running the world would be a real pain, lots of paper work and hard work in general.

I think some villains have a motive to try and make the world a better place (like Doom and perhaps Magneto) where they feel they have solutions to the world's problems and need to take over to enact them.

Other villains, like Red Skull and Apocalypse, want to make the world a world place, they have nihilistic ideologies and want to turn the world into a giant death camp.

So I would say the really noble and really evil villains have clear visions of their reign over the Earth.

Also I think some of the mad scientist villains don't want to take over the world, as so much as turn it into one giant lab experiment (like the Leader wanting turn humanity into a bunch of gamma mutants.)

The notion that Doom is, as Stan Lee puts it "a guy who believes he is smart enough to rule the world, and he's probably right" or the fellow who "is really a loved and respected ruler in his home country" is absolute and utter nonsense.

I can buy Magneto being a villain who wants to take over the world for A Reason, rather than just, My World My Rules, but Doom as noble would-be world ruler? Complete and utter bull.

I think most supervillains don't really have a plan for running the world because they don't really expect to get control of it. Supervillaining is a high public gig with tons of coroporate sponsors. Actually ruling the world would most likely result in a paycut.

are you just saying this about doom, or do you have some reasons to back it up?

Doesn't change the fact the standard of living in Latveria is very good and the fact that Doom has been willing to fight to the death for his people, compare that too almost every other other conqueror out there and yeah he is noble. If you had choice of living under Doom or any other super villain out there, which would you pick.

Every time Doom was removed as ruler of Latveria, someone worse takes over (Red Skull, Stryfe, Crown Prince Zorba) and latveria becomes a real Hell Hole. Heck Latveria was a hell hole before Doom took over.

At least Doom isn't a total monster like the Red Skull or Apocalypse, who want to turn the world into a giant Hell hole.

Besides Doom isn't a racist like magneto.

Because cool villains want to rule the world. Example

"So what are we doing tonight, Brain?"
"The same thing we do every night, Pinky. Try to take over the world!"

DO they actually have long term plans for the worl once they take over?

I mean what do the do if the actually do it?

and the fact that Doom has been willing to fight to the death for his people

Naw, he makes robots to do that.

And he makes the robots look like himself.

With robes and everything.

That's so Bass....

Just Doom.

I think I'm pretty clear that I'm talking exclusively about him, hence my singling out Magneto as being reasonably more believably 'ennobled' than Doom.

Everything you say is true.

But none of that proves that Doom is 'noble' with questionable means, reasons for which might only be clear to someone who lives in a country that also has a 'very good standard of living' (Philippines) and has clearly been a hell hole when ruled by lesser people (Ferdinand Marcos, Joseph Estrada) and is ruled by a supposedly 'better' President (Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo).

In Latveria, there's a roof over your head and food on the table. Better than you can say for everyone in america...

All I have to say is 'Go, super-fascist, go!"

I think he means percentage-wise

Of course he does. It's just the age-old argument about which to go by. I could say, percentage-wise, my dad is the best political leader in the world because 100% of the house he runs' population lives extremely well.

It was a ****ING JOKE, RANDOM! LIGHTEN THE **** UP! I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!
