Many of you on here on getting ready to graduate (both high school and college). Before you step out into the world, there's a few things you should know.

And Esquire has listed them for you....

Things Men Should Be Able To Do

Read it. Learn it. Love it. Live it.

I can do about 90% of the list. If there's something on the list that you don't know how to do....find a man who does and learn it.

I actually haven't cooked any meat on the grill. All the meat I've cooked I've prepared and then cooked on the stove.

I've cooked meat on the grill a number of times, but in terms of broiling or any of that I've no idea and long since lost interest.

I can shuffle a deck of cards quite well and cut them one handed and everything, but I'm ****e at dealing them out.

I can do about 75% of them and intend to learn others. A few of the ones I can't do are stupid, though, like creating a score cipher for a baseball game(plus all the meat-cooking ones, but at least they make sense for the list).

I mean obviously there are a few that I can't do, but I'd like to learn for the sake of it. But there are some that, in all honesty, you'd never need to learn.

If you can't do one thing....try to make up for it by doing something else well.

Case in point---I suck at ball-based sports. I can't hit a jump shot, throw a sharp fastball, or toss a football with a tight spiral........but I can throw a good punch.

I can't tie a bowtie.....but I have the Windsor, Half-Windsor and Basic Four In Hand down pat. PS....learn to do a full Windsor properly and watch many marvel at your skills because they never learned to do anything more than the basic Four In Hand.

I can't hit a jump shot in pool......but should any of you accidentally poke something sharp in your eye, believe I know how to save you.

But every man should know how to buy and wear a suit. And sometimes kick some ***.

Good, I've done the majority of these things. The ones I haven't done are the ones that have to do with fighting, closing the wounds, and a few others.

That one about old people being card sharks is so true though. Especially my grandmother with bridge, and her dad with dominoes.

You know, whenever I see the title to this thread, all I can hear is the Iron Maiden song "The Evil That Men Do".

I have done about 70% of this list. Some of them are a little American for me (The baseball scoring, although I can do a rugby game.. otherwise there is cricket and I don't even understand that game. Few do.) or impossible for me (the Wine one, as I am deathly allergic to alcohol).

I don't need a list to tell me that I'm not a man.

Same here. I'll have to take a really good look at that list sometime and decide what's not necessary and what would be useful to do.
