The Walt Disney Studios has signed a multi-year deal with Ahmet Zappa, Harris Katleman and Christian Beranek to oversee the newly christened Kingdom Comics, an innovative new venture of developing graphic novels to create new film projects for the Studio as well as re-imagining and rejuvenating motion pictures from the Disney live-action Vault, it was announced today by Oren Aviv, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Production.

This sounds really cool. If Disney are doing them on existing properties too which they mention this could be awesome. I really want to see a cool Pirates of the caribbean comic. Maybe even a Buzz lightyear comic which could be so awesome for reasons.

But the fact they are making comics to turn into films ..... does this mean Disney will have the closest comic book adaptations ever?

Ahmet Zappa is involved?

I mean, I love the Zappas, but does that seem weird to anyone else?

Doesn't surprise me, Ahmet and Dweezil are helping in developing the Fraggle Rock movie.

There is going to be a Fraggle Rock movie? Would you think less of me if say that is ****ing awesome?

Ahmet Zappa's apparently a big comics fan. Just the other day I saw he wrote the forward to the Se7en graphic novel and said his only problem with it is that if he'd known about it he would've demanded to collaborate.

This has a ton of potential.
