Rocky Horror Remake

Spite?

I mean I saw it a couple of years ago, and thought it was ok.

Spite for the people who watch it and love it. Mainly, my friends.

I have one provision for my watching it, but nobody has followed through on it yet: They have to watch a Kangaroo Jack/Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course double feature.

If you had mentioned this to me, I would have done it, just to make you watched Tim Curry in drag.

I could definitely imagine somebody like Eddie Izzard or even Andy Serkis as a damn impressive Dr. Frank-N-Furter... distinct from Curry's version of the character.

But still... Why?

I'm not going to say 'no' on principle, or that the remake will *necessarily* be unwatchable crap. But i'm 1000% certain it will pale in comparison to the original.

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 1: "Does he have to be a transexual? It's awfully controversial and I think the whole 'gay thing' is kind of going out of style."

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 2: "And how do you think that would test with NASCAR Dads?"

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 3: "What about casting?"

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 1: "I've got it: CRUISE IS FRANK-N-FURTER."

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 3: "That's ****ing brilliant."

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 2: "Like Travolta in Hairspray. I love it."

HOLLYWOOD EXECUTIVE 1: "Let's call his people and get this thing up and going."
