I said what I achieved in the 2009 thread so I'll just do my favourites.

COMICS
I am enjoying FINAL CRISIS. I have liked all of Millar's stuff so far. I am still enjoying John's stuff. FABLES has proved that I should never doubt massive twists that could possibly ruin the series.

FILMS
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is amazing. THE DARK KNIGHT and IRON MAN restored my faith in comic book movies even though THE INCREDIBLE HULK, WANTED and PUNISHER: WAR ZONE tried to take it away. Clint Eastwood is still legendary as shown by GRAN TORINO. Mickey Rourke is an amazing actor as shown in THE WRESTLER.

TV
I am still enjoying PRISON BREAK, no matter how convoluted it is becoming. I adore FRINGE because of all the insane science. THE OFFICE continues to have it's ups and downs. I don't watch much new TV.

MUSIC
Every 2008 album I have listened to I have enjoyed a great deal. Beck's MODERN GUILT is fantastic and got me into the artist. Oasis's DIG OUT YOUR SOUL was very enjoyable, especially the first half. MGMT's ORACULAR SPECTACULAR is psychedelic fun. Coldplay's VIVA LA VIDA is just amazing. Something else too.

BOOKS
I don't read new books. I have enjoyed getting back into Stephen King this year though.

Comic
Batman

Film
The Dark Knight

TV Show
Lost Season 4

Music
Best - Shiny Toy Guns "Season Of Poison"

Book
"The Devil You Know" by Mike Carey.

Videogame
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns Of The Patriot.

Highlights this year...

-Finally got my sexy Firebird fixed and back on the road. Only cost $3000.

-Brought myself a HDTV for Christmas. Only cost $1000.

-Went to Chicago and hung out with Joe Kalicki, Houde, Lithium, Bass, & E. It was really nice to meet Bass and E finally. The epic 36 hour bus ride was epic.
Only cost about $500.

-Went to the San Diego Comic-Con, San Diego is such a beautiful place. I never wanted to leave. Especially the Hooters on Pacific Beach. Only cost about $500.

-Was able to keep a steady job & my apartment through the shaky economy
.

To quote myself:

I graduated from high school and started college. I became serious about writing and started reading a lot more. I wrote two 15+ page papers and god knows how many pages of fiction.

I learned the true joys of sleep. I grew accustomed to the city (somewhat) and constant commuting. I met great people at college. I saw far fewer films than I did in 2007.

I developed musical taste surprisingly quick. I have since listened to somewhere past 60 albums and EPs (and counting!) released in 2008 and written about many of them. I got an iPod Touch. (Truly a life-changing experience.) I inadvertently became an indie hipster. I started and abandoned several blogs.

I voted for Barack Obama. I did not vote for John McCain. My interest in politics reached some sort of crazy limit by the end of the election and I can now only force myself to be casually interested in it.

And I was just generally awesome.

In 2009, I'd like to get a job (not really, but I probably should), lose a bit of weight, learn the guitar, and maybe start thinking about moving out. (though I don't expect to actually do it this year.)

 I had four illegitimate children with different people and animals in 2008, you don't see me bragging.

Favorite Things

Comic:

Batman and Final Crisis, I suppose. They are both very entertaining.

Movie:

Slumdog Millionaire is, without a doubt, the movie of the year. The reason why movies exist, practically. The Dark Knight is a very close second.

The Happening was laughably terrible.

TV Show:

LOST was better than ever this year, but Heroes finally lost my interest. South Park was very funny.

Music:

Everything I heard in 2008, in order.

To summarize:

15. Women - Women
14. Jay Reatard - Matador Singles 08
13. Vampire Weekend - Vampire Weekend
12. Gnarls Barkley - The Odd Couple
11. Dr. Dog - Fate
10. Elvis Costello & the Imposters - Momofuku
9. ****ed Up - The Chemistry of Common Life
8. Beck - Modern Guilt
7. The Walkmen - You & Me
6. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
5. TV on the Radio - Dear Science
4. Deerhunter - Microcastle
3. Girl Talk - Feed the Animals
2. Department of Eagles - In Ear Park
1. of Montreal - Skeletal Lamping

Book:

Like Proj, I don't read that many absolutely new books. I believe the only 2008 book I read was Snuff by Chuck Pahluniak. It was entertaining, but his shtick might be wearing a little thin by now.

MGMT's ORACULAR SPECTACULAR is psychedelic fun.
That came out in 2007, Proj.

To also quote myself...
I got my first job, worked nearly full time, liked it a lot it first and then grew to depise it. I shudder at the thought of going back there now.

I saw Donnie Darko.

I met completely randomly Mark McKinney, a lifelong comedy icon of mine, and didn't make a fool out of myself at all.

I flew on an airplane for the first time, I met Gothamite in person, I saw Paris and Rome and Prague and tons of Europe and its treasures.

I started University, liked it all right at first but it eventually turned out that it was pretty much pointless and only one of my credits from this term is going to count towards the Film Studies major I (hopefully get accepted/) go into next year, so now I have to wait a whole 'nother 8 months, just like 2008, to "really" start University.

It was fun though.

I asked out a girl for the first time(I'd only dated girls who'd asked me out before that). I was turned down but she immeadiately became one of my best friends at Uni.

Comic - I read Watchmen for the first time and loved it. I also, about a month ago, finally started reading Invincible. I bought trade after trade of it every few days and am up to the end of the sixth. It's a great comic. It makes me feel like I'm my own dad reading new issues of The Amazing Spider-Man during its golden age.

Film - In Bruges was refreshing and terrific, and getting to go to Bruges a few months after seeing it was surreally cool. The opening credits of Indy 4 brought tears to my eyes both times, first for "can't believe your back" and then for "being a teenage boy seeing Indiana Jones with friends is too good not to be true".

TV Show - It was a long time coming - I bought every season of the American version of The Office and it became my all-time favourite show. I love it more than almost anything. Lost, sadly, started to go downhill, and I fear for whether or not they'll bounce back to the show I was so crazy about for seasons 1 and 2.

Music - I'm not an album kind of guy. Gothamite and co introduced me to some great songs on The Europe Trip, chief among them being Common People by Pulp, a top-tener for me, and Time To Pretend by MGMT. I will always be rushed back to 2008 hearing those songs in the future.

Book - This might be the first year since I started reading novels that I didn't read one. I came close this month with The Last Days Of Krypton but had to stop to get into Lord Of The Rings mode. I used to read about fifteen novels a year. What happened?

Videogame - Where to begin? I played through Mass Effect during Jan-Feb and it's still one of the best and most deeply-engraining things I've ever done. Then I went through The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time over the course of about eight months and was speechless. I wanted to play that game for ten years, and it exceeded the hype by a lightyear. Not hyperbolizing.

Comic - This was a bad year for me in comics. Just kept Reading Pun MAX, DMZ and Scalped. Trade waited mostly everything. I think the last issue I bought was DC Universe #0

Film - There were plenty good ones. Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express were among the best along with Dark Knight and Iron Man.

TV Show - It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia always appeals to the ******* in me. The Office and Flight of The Conchords was equally great.

Music - The 3rd World by Immortal Technique and DJ Green Lantern. Probably one of the best produced mixtapes I've heard in a long long time.

Book - Currently reading Fight Club. and just working on my comic.

Videogame - Ahh man. Been playing some Link To The Past which is a classic. Heavily played Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and I just found out there is a sequel scheduled for a March release. Gears 2! Left 4 Dead! Rainbow Six Vegas 2! Anybody wanna play with me on Xbox live some time? let me know. my tag is: J Agamemnon :just the way it looks.

Oh yeah for life stuff...

I became sworn in as an officer to uphold the law. So far I'm in the Corrections business so I get to babysit criminals and I work in the Maximum security building. ****ing A!

Bought a freakin' Trailblazer, the biggest buy I ever achieved and now I have monthly payments. Sadly, I lost my 3000GT. Hopefully not for long. Got tased, got OC Sprayed. Highly recommend that! :)

I'm sure there was more.

OBSESSED! YOU'RE OBSESSED!

I had never heard of them/it until this year when the annoying hip hop kids played it over and over again in my Art Design class.

"Time to Pretend" was released as a single this year and that was only when it started to really get exposure, so people have been sort of ignoring the fact that the song has been around for longer than this year.

It's the same thing with "Paper Planes".

Comic -
Arc: Galactus arc of NOVA
Series: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Issue: THUNDERBOLTS #120

Film -
Non-Comic: CLOVERFIELD
Comic: THE DARK KNIGHT

TV Show - THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON

Music -
New Album: BLACK ICE by AC/DC
In General: The works of CREDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL

Book - BLACK BIRD by Michel Basilieres

Videogame - ROCK BAND 2

Comic - My favourite comics in 2008 : Supergirl , The Joker and Superman/batman with the mini dc universe.
Film - The dark knight , It was a great film.
TV Show - Big Bang Theory season 2. love it.
Music - Don't really listen to new music
Book - not got any new books
Videogame - Little Big Planet. It was just awesome. Plus search for "costumes" on others levels and you get stickers to make famous people. I made Venon , Wolverine , Darth Maul and Superman.

2008 wasn't really a good year for me. So I'm not really gonna elaborate on it.

But a few things I enjoyed were.....

Comic - Punisher Max - I was so sad to see Ennis' run end. But I was so grateful for it. Other than that, I'd have to say Scapled.

Film - Speed Racer - I know a lot of people hated it and the more obvious and popular answer would be Dark Knight.....but I swear Speed Racer was the most fun I've had in a long time at the movies. I can still turn my brain off and enjoy this almost everyday.

TV Show - How I Met Your Mother - One of the best, freshest comedies I've seen in years. I cannot get enough of it. In fact, I even bought the show on DVD....and I never buy shows on DVD except for Adult Swim stuff.

Music - Meh. Nothing really grabbed me musically this year. I guess, if anything...I'd say Kanye West's 808s and Heartbreaks. Its not the most poignant thing, but after losing his mom, you could hear how heartbroken he was in the music. Not your average Kanye stuff.

Book- Severance Package by Duane Swierczynski - Nothing special or even hard. I'm very certain it was well below my standard reading level.....but I found it really entertaining.

Videogame - Mirror's Edge - I didn't do a lot of gaming this year....but 2 games that I really love playing right now is Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia. Mirror's Edge is just plain awesome. It's like the opening free-running scene from Casino Royale.....in FP.....and only extended and I control how I get to my destination!!!

That would be my second choice. Speed Racer was my number 1 movie on the favourite films of 2008 thread till Dark Knight came out. Love and I mean LOVE that film even whent out and got Bluray of the film.

Prince Of Persia was fabulous.

Mirror's Edge is one I really want to play. I've played the demo but I heard it was pretty much the same so I'm waiting for it to drop in price.

I'm going into more detail.

Comic
Batman
This was the best overall comic this year. RIP and Last Rites were both insane and great points as to why Batman is who he is. Other great comics were Fables, Punisher MAX, Thor, & Daredevil.

Film
The Dark Knight
Pretty much everything I want out of a film between Batman and Joker. I love it so much.

Other good movies this year were Slumdog Millionaire, Burn After Reading, Iron Man, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

TV Show
Lost Season 4

The only show I was watching that rivaled Lost in quality was Seasons 3 & 4 of Supernatural. Heroes & Prison Break was pretty disappointing. And Fringe is still getting it's groove going.

Music
Best - Shiny Toy Guns "Season Of Poison"

I haven't listen to much new music this year.

Book
"The Devil You Know" by Mike Carey.

Same with books but I did really love this book.

Videogame
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns Of The Patriot.

Probably the best game of the decade. Other games I liked were Prince Of Persia & Ninja Gaiden 2.

It's not nearly as hard as the first one.

Except for a couple parts I go through a chapter a hour.

Most of the bosses are easier than the normal monsters.
