Director Peter Berg said prior to Hancock's release that if the film pulls in as much business as predicted, a sequel, Hancock 2, would likely follow. After the film's release on DVD and Blu-ray, actor Will Smith said that there was ongoing discussion about a possible sequel, "The ideas aren't [...] developed, but we are building out an entire world; I think people are going to be very surprised at the new world of Hancock."

I read something about it probably being a sort of prequel or at least looking back at their thousands-year relationship.

Concurrence givenorized.

That's not to say that I didn't enjoy the film. I actually love all of Peter Berg's films and encourage everyone to see The Kingdom and Friday Night Lights as soon as possible (whether it be for the first time or the 37th).

But Hancock basically fell apart at the end of the second act and carried over into the third. And at the end, he's rehabilitated and in New York doing good. In all honesty, I have no desire to see a prequel or sequel.

So, in conclusion, I'd like to summarize this post by just saying "Meh".

I have the same feelings about HANCOCK.

Hancock suffered mainly from the new classic movie sickness that is "Every good scene is in the preview." Basically became reduced down to people laughing at Will Smith saying the f-word.

It wasn't bad, but VVD is right, ending it where it ended is best in my mind.
