The Thread of Guilty Pleasures

It's so poorly marketed. It won an award for "Best Children's Show", but it's basically LOST-meets-The O.C. , only better. It's not for kids, as evidenced in the many sexual references, the first being Kyle getting his first boner - at the pool ( ) in episode 4, and adults clearly have no interest in ABC Family. But most teens think it's incredibly corny, which it is, but it's also so frickin' good.

But if you ever see the first season, UC, feel free to laugh at the unfortunate Sour Patch Gummi Worms product placement in EVERY EPISODE.

What a random product for product placement.

Watch, one season all the characters are suddenly going to start eating Twizzlers all the time.

Avril Lavigne

I'm not sure, there is not that much I'm ashamed of...

I never really though much about Avril Lavigne in any way, until last Summer, my friend Tom (posted here for about three minutes) showed me the video for Girlfriend. We watched this video about four times in a row and many times since then.

Not because of the music.

-- Kyle XY (It's not really a 'girly' show, but it certainly does look stupid if you haven't seen it, or even if you've caught a couple episodes. However, it did just win "Best Kids Show" -- even though it's never been one to begin with :? -- at the Television Critics Awards, which is one of the few awards shows that recognize the talent that The Emmys snub, like Friday Night Lights and The Wire.)

This really started out as a guilty pleasure for me. The writing and plots were laughably clichéd and recycled. However, it's really grown into a gripping and interesting show. Even the acting's improved greatly.

Can't see how they're calling it a 'kid's show' though. :?

I've said before that I like a couple of Britney Spears's songs.

That's all you are getting out of me :noway:

I like all of her new songs.

Zing!

And I still maintain the fact that The OC was one of the most entertaining guilty pleasures I've ever seen. To this day I still even think about renting the DVDs aagin just for the Chrismukkah episodes.

SHUT UP! :x

Doughnuts are the food of kings in all of their masterful forms. If they ever made magically fat-free but taste-the-same doughnuts, I would probably never eat anything else, ever again.

I had two nearly half an hour ago and I'm still rejoicing.

I said it in the current Dreamcast, but I'll say it again here.

Sailor Moon. It was what got me into anime (When every other guy I know got into anime through Dragonball Z) and I can still say I have fond memories of it. It is a shame no one ever released the fifth season, Sailor Stars, here as it is, arguably, one of the best seasons.

Yeah, Sailor Moon really grated on me when my sister would watch it constantly as a kid, but due to constant exposure I began to follow the storyline quite closely and to this day I look back on it with extremely fond memories. Even just that "DiC" logo sequence at the end is one of my most powerful bits of nostalgia. I'd LOVE to see the whole original series again.

If you ever do get the chance, watch the uncensored Japanese version with subtitles. I usually have no problem with dubs (such as Cowboy Bebop, where I feel the dub is superior to the original version), but the difference between the dubbed Sailor Moon and the original is huge.

I find that Taylor Swift song catchy.

Venom Melendez.

So true

Musicals. I'm talking Grease, West Side Story, Rent, Wicked, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, broadway musicals.

And I still do

See, Doom? We would expect something like that from Mole.

Nickelback...settling down and having babies...I don't know what's with you, man. You're freaking me out.

HAHAHAHA

I still can't help but mocking the show whenever I see the ads with the guy holding up his shirt and showing that he doesn't have a bellybutton.

Is this even still on?

I only ask because posters for Kyle XY are still hanging in my mall.

I have one.

Moonmaster porn.

I'm addicted.

Rub a dub dub.

Who's in my tub?

In light of recent events, this is hilarious

I'd hit it.

In light of recent events, this is hilarious as well.

You knew one of their names!

Your so gay!

CALLED IT!

 The only reason why I remember that is because VH1 did a countdown of terrible songs a few years ago and one of the top ones was a ridiculous solo song that he did where he claimed that women who dance with each other or make out are not really lesbians, they're just trying to "get his attention".

Honestly.

 You guys are dicks.

See?!

And now I feel bad.

Not really.

MOONEY IS SO GAY!

Not my thing, but to each their own.
and Nickleback. I'm more ashamed of that than I am the whole Broadway thing. When I think about it....there isn't a Nickleback song that I don't not like.
There is something wrong with you. Wrong in your soul.
