There should be a Luna Bros. thread so Doom and I can talk about their comics.

Ultra. Girls. The Sword. All of them are great, original reads and very cinematic in style. I'm surprised they all haven't been optioned for TV/film (I know there was an Ultra pilot that wasn't picked up but I haven't heard anything about the other two). EDIT: Apparently they've been talking to Bryce Dallas Howard about The Sword?

I know the brother that can draw did that Spider-Woman: Origin mini which wasn't very good, but... it's when these two guys work together in sync that they produce some damn good work.

So yeah... I've just finished the first volume of The Sword. Exciting stuff. Very strong start and I'm hooked, just like with Girls. Looking forward to catching up.

I'm all caught up. Dara got her ****ing jaw punched off!

I haven't gotten past the first volume of The Sword yet, I'm tradewaiting.

But Ultra, which comes complete in one Trade Paperback, is the ****ing bomb yo. While is has superheroes, it focuses more on their social life and get togethers than the fact they are superheroes.

And Girls uses the concept of people being isolated in a small town to explore issues of sexuality and gender... and does it in an original way - naked alien chicks and a giant sperm monster, dudes.

All the elemental stuff in The Sword reminds me of Avatar. This is a good thing.

I have not read Girls.

But the giant Sperm Monster is going to make me.

Does Vertigo publish this?

First thing I thought of.

Things in the Sword seem to be progressing alittle too neatly, at least in the first six issues it does, I am hoping for a roadblock or two to be thrown in the story.

Image publish all their stuff though they would also fit in perfectly at Vertigo.

I'm thinking there's going to be a big twist coming up in The Sword (maybe involving her father?) which should change everything.

Ah okay, sweet.

Which is what I want to find out. Because the father went down alittle too easily at the beginning.

How the hell can Dara fight a mountain!?

She didn't have too, the Air Girl help her *** out. And that Air Girl had a kickass plan too.

I just finished Ultra. It was so great stuff.

Sweet & Sour

I love Ultra.

I like how they seem to take simple ideas, and add their own little twists to them.

I just read all of Girls, I liked it. I was kinda surprised at what kind of story it turned out to be. It kinda has a vibe like if Invasion of the Body Snatchers had sexual relations with The Walking Dead and Girls is the baby that hatches from the resulting egg.
