So, this is an idea I had, but who here would be interested in starting a kind of club where, for one month, we all play through an old game we all vote on?

And by old, I mean from the previous console generation, so 2004 at max.

Would this appeal to anyone?

I'd be up for it depending on when it was and what game.

2004?!

In a day and age where eumlators are free and easy to find, I'd vote to not do anything later than 1994.

What? But that would exclude one of the greatest games of all time - System Shock 2!

Not to mention Deus Ex!

1994 is far too early. 2004 is a good end date.

Well, it would be for the whole month. We'll all play the game, at our own pace, and make quirky comments on in some forum/thread for the entire month. Then, when the day passes, we'll move onto another game - of our choosing.

I'm thinking each month we will bring up to vote a Console exclusive game and a PC exclusive game. So that it is fairly even. :)

Exactly that's one of the reasons I said deepening what it is e.g if it was say a 2004 Xbox game I don't have an Xbox and I'm not buying one just for this.

Then I'm out.

But I'll explain why and correct what I said. 1st when I said when I meant if it interferes with anything else I'm doing then no. Now the why I'm out 1st) I hate Pc gaming for the most part. 2nd What E said

Mole, I don't really get what you mean. Kind of hard for something to interfere with what you are doing when you can do this at your own pace.

And the you hating PC Games thing... well, we can debate that in another thread. ;)

Looks like this is a sinker, eh?

I mean for example you say Play it for entire month. Take this month for example i'm away on a trip for a couple of weks so would miss like half the month then count up all the other days I'm busy during day or something and 70-80% of the month is gone. So this month i wouldn't.

That's what I mean.

And the you hating PC Games thing... well, we can debate that in another thread.

Debate what? I hate pc gaming. That's not a debate that's a personal preference

Didn't you already do this?

Playing ROMS would be more fun. SNES FTW.

I also think the barrier should be set to pre N64/PS1 days, or include N64 and PS1 at the latest

I'll only join if the first game is Vectorman

VECTORMAN!

That's a bingo!

I never said we wouldn't do ROMS. When did I say that?

And Vectorman would be AWESOME. I am highly tempted.

But I don't understand the merit of only doing up to the SNES era. So many good games came after, I see that as just downright maddening!

cause you're limit of 2004 doesn't really gel with with it being and "Old" game club

5 years old is far from being an old game

Yeah, I'd be so in for this if it only applied to free ROM games. 1994 is a bit early though. There was good Sega and SNES stuff around until at least 1996.
