Rintintin or Tintin or Tin Man or anything else tin-related

Re: Ultimate Enemy discussion

I don't know about all that. Rintintin hasn't been around in decades (the actual Rintintin died in the early 30's) and everyone knows who he is. Tintin "the boy adventurer" still has some work to do.

Well, his Steven Spielberg-directed movie should change that in a couple years.

It'll have to be one hell of a movie. A dog that died 70 yrs ago is a household name. Everyone knows him. (without a Spielberg directed movie I might add) But we can check back 70 yrs after the Tintin movie and re-evaluate.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Nice.

So did anyone else notice that this became a "all things Tintin" (and Rintintin) thread pretty quickly?

I sometimes wonder why the human race keeps producing these ne'er do wells.

HE IS NOT A BOY ADVENTURER, HE IS A BELGIAN JOURNALIST AND CAPTAIN HADDOCK IS AWESOME AND SHUT UP.

As Gemini pointed out once, there are two poles on this forum. One is Bendis' suckiness and the other is Me. All threads devolve to one or the other. Since this began at one end, it is only natural that my sheer presence would warp the thread into something not only amazing but educational too!

Tra-la-lee!

What the **** is Belgia?

That's a joke btw, so all you Belgian lurkers need not register to defend the insignificant dirt heap you and Hergé call a country.
I'm buying a house soon.
Really?

I only vaguely remember Tintin from a cartoon I once saw years ago at 6 am one mourning

Re: Ultimate Enemy discussion

Tintin is awesome.

Re: Ultimate Enemy discussion

Tintin comics were the first I ever read as a child. My library had all but two of the books. I never did get to read those ones, but I'm betting I finally will, now that the movie is coming.

Re: Ultimate Enemy discussion

there are so many ne'er do wells in the world now that they inevitably meet and breed, producing more ne'er do wells. The world is stuck in a vicious cycle of Ne'er do well breeding.

Those kids always drive me bats.

Drives us bats! Drives us bats! Kids really drive me Bats! Bats! BAAATS!

I wonder if you had to spend at least a few years of your childhood living in Britain to appreciate Tintin. I started to get into Spider-Man when I was a kid, but then my family moved to England and all I could find was Tintin and Asterix. I'm sure Spider-Man and Marvel were around, but they weren't nearly as popular.

They had Spidey and everything and comic shops. I only got into Tintin because my half-brother moved in from France and had a bunch of Tintin, Asterix, and Lucky Luke.

I'm sure you can get all the Tintin books now. Even the super-racist Tintin in Congo.

Rintintin never resorted to racism. Clearly he's the superior Tintin.
I want to see the sequel to this mini series, Ultimate Frenemy. I hope it stars Gedolf.
I'm intrigued. What's the creative team?
