Anyone else play it?

I freaking love it, the story is moving and the gameplay is fantastic.

No but I want to. Everything I have read about it has been very positive. I want to buy it but I hate paying $60 for a game and if it sux I get $25 for it on trade.

enjoy it while you can. All these companies are starting to crack down on used games, mainly EA and Activision. Now with your new copy, you input a one time code for accessing online content and dlc(?) and if you buy it used, you won't be able to access online content. The new UFC game is one of the first. I know Mass Effect 2 has something similar but you just pay to activate the online stuff so that the developers get some extra cash since they don't see a dime on a used game.

I want to get a PS3 just to play this game.

I had heard about that but I thought it was just EA. That is pretty weak.

Really? I think it makes perfect sense from a business standpoint. They need to be paid for their work or else it will stop. Every time a game gets sold used it cuts into the overall profit that the game companies make, by putting incentives in to buy new they're going to move more units and have a healthier bottom line. The idea that you shouldn't have to pay for extra content is, quite frankly, retarded.

And remember, if demand for used games fall then the prices of them should as well, allowing an offset for the $10 or whatever charge.

Now more on topic, I'm getting about 1-2 hours of Red Dead time in a day. Its quite good. I'm a little disappointed that the controls haven't evolved much on the Playstation since I had a PS1 tho. I lassoed a dude and drug him around today and that makes up for everything.

I'm too scared to go out into the wild now. :(

The multiplayer is fun though! :)

Easily GOTY.

Heh, doubt it. I'm guessing either God of War 3 or Modern Warfare 2 will get GotY.

I need to give this game another go. There wasn't anything about it that I thought was "bad", but I just couldn't click with it.

It's got interesting implementation but since none of my friends both own the game and have an XBL subscription, the couple times I've popped on it's just been me and 13 year old kids, so I didn't stick with it.

I went on to test it out and ended up following some random guy and taking out a group of bandits hiding in a mansion. It was awesome.

Right on. I did some of the death match/capture the flags games and just got utterly annihilated because I didn't know the maps.

Free roam seemed mostly to consist of random people running around and murdering each other like it was a deathmatch game, but I may check it out again and look into some of the coop missions.

Mowdern Warfare 2 got GOTY last year. It's gonna be Black Ops. *blech*

Not yet. I'll probably get it once I wrap up Red Dead and exhaust the other games I haven't played while my XBox has been broken.

Cool.

I enjoyed it. The Undead work rather well in an Old West setting. It's actually creepier than when it's set in the present. IMO anyway.

I like that you can ride the 4 horses of the Apocalypse...... and a Unicorn.

I've played this, GOW 3, NBA 2K11 and Mass Effect 2 this year. I'm unbelievably conflicted on what's the best game this year.

I hear nothing but good things about Black Ops.

The bad taste of Bobby Kotick firing West and Zampella for practically nothing still lingers on my palette like tortilla chips and Sprite. And from videos, I see no difference in multiplayer gameplay between BO and MW2. I hear the story is great, but I'm not buying. I'll borrow it from a friend or something for the single player.
