WHO DO YOU CHOOSE?

I'd like to choose a ceremony that wouldn't consider nominating Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland 3D for Best Picture.

Overall the GG's this year don't seem very indicative of the Oscars, especially because True Grit's not out yet.

The Best Picture - Musical and Comedy nominees made me laugh.

Also the fact that Depp got nominated for his work in Alice in Wonderland.

Huh. Arrested Development snubbed yet again.

BEST PICTURE, DRAMA
The Social Network - I still need to see Black Swan, The Fighter and The King's Speech.

BEST PICTURE, MUSICAL OR COMEDY
The Kids Are All Right - all of the other nominees are a joke. This is the only one that actually sounds good.

BEST DIRECTOR
David Fincher, The Social Network - same situation as Best Picture, Drama.

BEST ACTOR, DRAMA
Jesse Eisenberg, The Social Network - despite being the only one I've seen, it was an incredible performance.

BEST ACTRESS, DRAMA
Jennifer Lawrence, Winter's Bone - good movie, great performance.

BEST ACTOR, COMEDY OR MUSICAL
This category is a joke too.

BEST ACTRESS, COMEDY OR MUSICAL
Emma Stone, Easy A - I love her.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Andrew Garfield, The Social Network - this guy is my hero.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Jacki Weaver, Animal Kingdom - she scared me.

BEST SCREENPLAY
Christopher Nolan, Inception - you've got to give Inception an award for something, so you may as well give Nolan an award for his most original screenplay yet.

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE
Toy Story 3 - nothing is better.

BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM
I haven't seen any of these.

BEST ORIGINAL SCORE
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, The Social Network - an incredible score; possibly my favourite ever.

BEST ORIGINAL SONG
I haven't heard any of these.

BEST TV SERIES, DRAMA
Mad Men - easily the best of these. The Walking Dead being nominated over Breaking Bad shows how pointless the Golden Globes are.

BEST TV SERIES, COMEDY
Modern Family - because Community isn't here.

BEST ACTOR, DRAMA
Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad - the Golden Globes have remembered Cranston exists.

BEST ACTRESS, DRAMA
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men - Segal should have been nominated for S2 instead of S3.

BEST ACTOR, COMEDY
Steve Carell, The Office - what a boring category. Joel McHale FTW.

BEST ACTRESS, COMEDY
Tina Fey, 30 Rock - see above.

BEST MINI-SERIES OR TV MOVIE
The Pacific - the only one I've seen.

BEST ACTOR IN A MINI-SERIES OR TV MOVIE
Idris Elba, Luther - Stringer Bell!

BEST ACTRESS IN A MINI-SERIES OR TV MOVIE
I haven't seen any of these.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A SERIES, MINI-SERIES OR TV MOVIE
Eric Stonestreet, Modern Family - another category that is a joke. How do you even compare five people from all of these different mediums?

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A SERIES, MINI-SERIES OR TV MOVIE
Kelly McDonald, Boardwalk Empire - this woman is amazing.

The Golden Globes are fun but terrible. :(

Also the fact that Depp got nominated for his work in Alice in Wonderland.

Seriously. DiCaprio doesn't even get one nomination for Shutter Island or Inception, but they give Depp TWO? For movies that got panned?

I usually think the Globes are actually pretty good. No idea what they were thinking this year. At least Ross/Reznor got the nod for the Social Network score, which I'm still worried won't get recognized at the Oscars. Ross' Book Of Eli score is gonna get snubbed this year anyway(which drives me crazy because I think it's one of the best of all time). He better get to bring home something.

I'd give director, picture and screenplay all to Inception, here and at the Oscars, although it's very close between Nolan and Fincher for director. If they pull that off plus Adapted Screenplay for Social Network, I'll be pretty content.

If The Social Network score isn't nominated for Best Score at the Oscars just because Reznor sampled two songs from a Nine Inch Nails album then I will freak. Didn't something similar happen to Greenwood's There Will Be Blood and Karen O's Where the Wild Things Are scores?

It is almost time.

I like that Ricky Gervais mocked everyone.

It was even better because half of the celebrities actually seemed offended. The Tourist sucks, **** you.
