Personally I think that DC is better because of batman n superman. Superman is one of the most iconic characters of all time

Re: Mavel VS. DC! Which is better

Well in general I prefer DCs characters but as of late my pull list has been shifting to marvel for my superhero fix. DC hasn't been doing it very well lately and Marvel seems to have better writers. I expect the pendulum to swing the other way again in a few years.

While it's a little more complicated than "either-or" (both suffer from similar problems and have their fair share of triumphant, medium-defining works), I prefer Marvel. I generally find their characters more relatable, and I think there's a reason why those characters have resonated with the general moviegoing public more than any DC character who isn't Batman.

DC has Vertigo, though.

Which one publishes Adventure Time?

DC is the best. the only thing going for Marvel is Captain America.

You're speaking in jingles. So what is Superman is iconic if the books suck?

DC relied on the gimmick of the reboot to sell books and put (mostly) crap writers on them. A good portion of Marvel's books are already the best they've been in years.

I don't know why but I am a die hard marvel fan. I can tolerate and at times actually enjoy DC movies and tv shows. I think that if DC didnt make so much batman I would like them better. Marvel more relatable, not as dark, and has humor while DC is dark, serious, and not as good. So IMHO marvel beats DC hands down

Personally, I am a die hard Batman fan. But when asked whether dc or marvel is better, I'd have to say marvel because both faced similar problems yet marvel came out on top. Marvel has good consistent writers and more "relatable" characters that are down to earth. Meanwhile, Batman and superman have to shoulder the entire weight of dc.

Batman's like the Wolverine of the DC Universe: he's in almost everything doing almost everything.

Marvel by far. I love the entire Marvel universe, especially with the quality of books they're doing now. DC on the other hand, I only like Green Lantern and Batman.

While I have been a Marvel guy for over 30 years, the truth right now, IMO, is that Image is significantly, consistently better than both of these options. Reading review sites with no agendas ( comicbook roundup.com, the rottentomatoes of comics, for example), and checking the Eisner nominees (4 of 5 nominees for best series from Image) suggest that I'm not alone in thinking this.

Trusting in the creativity of creators is currently producing a better product than protecting the status quo of decades-old properties ( and ideas).

I enjoy the Marvel characters so much more than DC. DC has some good stuff, to be sure - the Teen Titans in particular are some of my favourite comics ever (when they're done well). But overall, Marvel takes the cake.

Have you read any if the Valiant reboot titles? Those are getting rave reviews and I can understand why. I'm loving Bloodshot, Archer & Armstrong, and Harbinger. XO Manowar and Shadowman are also decent. They've started quite strong. Definitely recommend checking them out to see if they fit your tastes (and invariably at least one or two will, they're doing a great job of keeping each title grounded in a certain niche, but at the same time allow for a wide range in said niches). Really enjoyable stuff.

They are quite good. I suppose this will sound silly, but one plus Valiant has (for me) over Image is that their books are in the same universe- there are crossovers. So it reminds me of Marvel when I was a kid... Cool crossover events without 'creativity - crushing' decades of continuity to preserve. I like the feeling that one character, from one book, could have a legitimate and lasting effect on another, from a different book, via a crossover.

I know that sounds convoluted, but the very thing that's souring me on Marvel, holds potential for me in Valiant.

Doesn't sound silly or convoluted at all, it's one of the things that appeals to me as well (besides the overall great writing and artwork).
