Was at GameStop today with my son and the chick that works there (I love the GameStop chicks) said in June there will be a new game that Plays like Skylanders with a portal and toys but with Disney characters. I for one love Skylanders. Yes it's easy but so what, it's cool. and

Anyway...

Re: Disney Skylanders?

It's called Disney Infinity, and she was absolutely right, it's the same basic idea as Skylanders. No word of whether or not Disney-owned properties like Star Wars and Marvel will be used, though, it's just their core movies for now.

Just a sidenote: you know that ending a sentence with "anyways" means you seek to change the subject, right?

Yea I looked more into it and there is even an ad on YouTube for it. I'm on my iPod now, not sure how to show the link here. I think they should make separate games with Star Wars and Marvel but you can use the same portal. That's just good marketing.

Re: Disney Skylanders?

Showed this to my son when it was announced and we're both pretty geeked for it, but the addition of Star Wars characters might make this the greatest video game ever made.

I would rather see a Star Wars game in this format stand on it's own apposed to adding them to this game. I don't really think Han Solo would need any help from Mater.

p.s. I quit saying " Anyway" it was causing to much controversy. Ha!

I was wondering if Infinity would outdo Skylanders since they have a huge chest of characters that people of all ages already know. But Skylanders is already three steps ahead of The Mouse. In the fall "Skylanders Swap-Force" will hit the shelves and it looks like the best one yet. You can take 2 characters and interchange them combining their powers and upgrades. And of course the orginal and the Giants series works on this to. So everyone who is already invested in Skylanders have more to look forward to.

Or Star Wars and Marvel themed versions of Disney characters and sets...?

That's what I think. Even people who don't care about the game will still collect the figures. It's a huge marketing opportunity for them. Also let the games be teen rated not as kiddie as Skylanders and what Infinity looks like.

Yes me too (with my nephew NOT your son as that would be weird) Disney characters = starter pack Preordered. Marvel characters possible = Kinda cool, Star wars characters = I'll will buy them all

We got this today and I gotta say so far it's pretty impressive. I think I may still like Skylanders better but to be fair I've only played a tiny fraction of what this game has to offer. It plays nothing like Skylanders. With the exception of placing toys on a portal your getting a completely different game. Some of the things I thought was gonna suck about it ended up working for the better. Main example: in co op mode it gives you a split screen. At first my son was like, " where are you? Where are you?". Then we figured out it works better to split up sometimes. I like to find the hidden things and side missions where he likes to just fight through and get to the next level. Now we both can play at our own pace and any points go to the team not just one player. Also I didn't like at first you couldn't put characters in worlds other than there's ( for example Jack Sparrow won't go into Lightening McQueens world of Cars), but this actually makes it that your getting multiple types of games in one. Monsters U world you do missions, Cars is racing, Incredibles is fighting and adventure ect. In toy box mode you can mix characters and really do whatever you want! You can build worlds and the opertunity seems endless. We built a racetrack and had Mr Incredible race in a car against Davy Jones on Mulan's horse with villains on the track trying to stop us. All this was in a few hours of gameplay.

I wish this existed when I was a kid.

:( Now I'm going to have to become a parent so I can play this and not feel guilty about it.

Hello, ladies.

Marvel superheroes are being added to the mix this fall. In addition to the pictured characters, the trailer has appearances from Nick Fury, Loki, Groot and Rocky the Racoon, Spiderman and I think a few others I missed.

We got this for my kids a few weeks ago and my son really loves it. The girls play around with it once in a while...we got the Frozen figures and I thought that would get them involved but it hasn't. My son really likes toy box mode. He's a Minecraft junkie so I figured that would be the case.

Besides the figures that come with it we have the 2 Frozen ones, Mickey Mouse, Wreck It Ralph, and I think a couple others.

Honestly, I'm really interested in picking it up once the Marvel packs come out, but everything I've heard about it says the gameplay is basically "Oh, I'm a Disney character, look at this neat little disney thing, okay there's another disney landmark over there" and I'd rather not shell out money on an interactive tour of some disney world

I don't think toy box mode is like that, really. I haven't seen a lot of the regular mission-based levels (can't remember what they call it) but it really didn't seem like that was the case there, either.

Found out today that the Marvel will be a whole new game to buy. Not just figures that are added. But you can play your old figures on the new game
