This is amazing and might be enough to get back into gaming

Very cool idea. Two questions I had immediately:

1. What is the battery life like?

2. What is the speed (loading, etc.) of the cartridges? I would think that discs are faster, especially for "bigger" games like would be on this compared to a 3DS.

Long and long. Best part is I've been playing with the controller until the console is charged, then play on the console which charges the controller, and I haven't moved from my bed in three days as of tomorrow. Breath of the Wild is a solid 10/10. Best game I've played in years.

You haven't eaten or used the bathroom in three days?

Do they have Virtual Console set up on it yet?

I read that there was a little bit of controversy over not being able to back up or save game save files. I'm not sure if that would be a dealbreaker for me.

I'd like to get one, but I'll wait until they smooth things out a little and get some more games.

Alright, I've gotten up for restroom breaks and food, but I brought the game with me ;)

Not yet, honestly it's pretty barebones. There's not many games on it yet.

Yeah Breath of the Wild is pretty amazing, according to my buddy who picked it up for Wii U. I'll be swinging by his place to check it out this weekend. Now, Nintendo, can you please do the smart thing and make a new Metroid Prime-like game for switch, involving a cool interaction feature using switch controller/pad and TV screen (for scanning for power ups, or offering both first and third person view simultaneously and finding interesting ways of integrating the two--maybe a homing type approach for certain special item upgrades which makes them harder to find).

Seriously, Nintendo, do for Metroid what you just did with that apparently amazing Zelda game. Samus needs some love, especially on their main console.

Really looking forward to BotW, and I've never been a huge Zelda fan (Metroid fanboy all the way). But the reviews and positive feedback my friend has given it (who is a HUGE Zelda fan) have me convinced it's a truly huge achievement. Can't wait.

I love Zelda so much. But I don't see myself playing this any time soon. I'm not going to buy a Switch or WiiU just for this game. But I still have a few of the older console games on my Wii that I haven't played. A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask.

Maybe one day I'll borrow this from someone and play it.

Changing subjects slightly, Nintendo really needs to release some of their old Gameboy games on Android and IOS. People play Nintendo games on emulators all the time b/c they don't want to pay for a DS, but they (and I) would gladly pay $5-10 to play Link's Awakening on my phone.

That's... a little bit better. Do you have a job? Or school? Or people who check in on you?

Yes, no, and not really. I messed my car up so I couldn't leave my house and had two days off work anyway.

It doesn't work like that, the Wii U did though. The screen is literally the console in this case, all the dock does is broadcast it on the TV at which point the Joycons are detached from the console. You can't have it on the TV and the console like you could with the Wii U.

I thought Other M was great outside of the story. I'd like a new 2D game to be honest. Before Metroid I think Chibi-Robo, Battalion Wars, F-Zero, EarthBound, 1080°, Punch-Out, Eternal Darkness, Golden Sun, Advance Wars, and Geist need more love. Especially Eternal Darkness and Geist. Eternal Darkness is a psychological horror game, there was a Kickstarter or something recently that failed iirc. It was great, there's a part where it tricks you into thinking your GameCube crashed. Geist is an FPS where you play as a ghost possessing items to scare people so you can possess them.

It's incredible, I completed all the main quests and am ready to fight Ganon. That's going to be months from now though, there's so much to freaking do.

I just realized that F-Zero hasn't had a console game in 14 years and the last US released game was on Game Boy Advance 13 years ago and it was based on the F-Zero anime. Nintendo, for the love of god,
show me your moves

I made a thing

Late to the party but I got a Switch this past Christmas.

And I LOVE it. I haven't played games this much in ages.

Right now most of my time is spent shiny hunting in Pokemon Let's Go but I also love Smash Bros. and Mario Odyssey.

We have Breath of the Wild and it is phenomenal but I don't play a ton; once I'm done with the other games I'll get more into it.

I was also so geeked when they added Super Mario Bros. 2 to online. That was one of the first games I really got into way back when and it's so cool to be able to play it in this setting.

Is Pokemon anything like the old Gameboy games of the past?

I'm wanting to get a switch for Zelda....just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I love SMB2 also. I can't belive they haven't found a way to include it in the new Mario Maker! I won't buy Mario Maker 2 unless they add SMB2 (US obvously) styles and enemies.
