Marvel Cinematic Universe News, Rumors, and Discussion

Nope, with Feige too. Hence why Disney gave Feige direct control of Marvel Studios/film production and removed Perlmutter from the film equation entirely, which created bad blood with Perlmutter.

Nothing other than that they're all under same Disney corporate umbrella. That was sort of the point, along with fact Feige won't work with Perlmutter anymore (his interference in Phase 1 films was notorious), and Perlmutter is notoriously petty, so probably would stand in way of the TV characters showing up in films.

It's all just a multi-billion dollar pissing contest, after all.

This is a TV character showing up in another TV show. Coulson or Daisy coming in to The Defenders.

I meant that the TV department so far has been very self contained regarding networks they're airing on. You might see some crossover within shows on same network (like Inhumans/AoS), and obviously that's case with Defenders, but you're unlikely to see AoS characters show up on the Netflix shows or on the upcoming Runaways or Cloak and Dagger shows. It COULD happen, but licensing rights for the respective networks make that a legal minefield. However, Marvel have been known to pull off such unbelievable negotiations in past (Spider-Man), so anything is possible.

In regards to Feige/Perlmutter, there is bad blood since Feige worked under Perlmutter's notorious micromanagement and frugal/cheapness with Phase 1. Feige/Marvel Studios get first dibs on all characters that Marvel Studios/TV Dept have rights to. The TV shows and their writers constantly have to defer and refer to Feige and the Marvel Studios powers that be--mainly Agents of SHIELD since they build some of their plot lines around the big film releases, but the other shows in sense that they can't use characters slated for films, or can't use plot lines which may infringe on things planned for the films.

So, Feige ultimately gets to make the call. Feige has direct and indirect control of what happens in the TV side of the MCU. Perlmutter used to be one called shots in that regard during Phase 1 (and early Phase 2). There is bad blood between them. I think Feige wants to stay distant, and use his influence to compartmentalism the TV aspects as much as possible since he doesn't have direct control over that corner of the universe.

That, combined with network red tape and licensing issues regarding the different networks makes it unlikely. Definitely possible, but unlikely.

So Perlmutter has authority over the TV shows?

Perlmutter has direct control over the comics, merchandising, and TV department (animation and live action). But the TV department still has to bow to Marvel Studios and their plans. The films, being the big money maker and driving force for merchandising and comic sales, always get first dibs.
