The Inhumans (Now TV series)

I'm in shock how this turned out. I didn't think it was terribly bad (probably cause my expectations were very low due to the bad reviews.). But it's shocking how hard Disney/Marvel dropped the ball on this.

I kinda hope they don't give up on this. I heard they had already planned on doing 2-3 seasons at least. It seems every project Scott Buck is on sucks. I don't know how this guy keeps on getting work. They need to let him go. And he seriously needs to rethink his career choice. Or learn how to write better.

Well I just watched episode 3. It's definitely better than the last two. But, still has miles to go to impress me.

I'm only 12 minutes into the fourth episode, but it's already a notable improvement over the first three. I liked that they addressed the burden of Black Bolt's powers more, and Karnak helping to improve the irrigation of the illegal weed grow op was hilarious. Still very rough around the edges and the weakest of the MCU TV offerings yet, but least it seems to be improving with each episode.

The plot doesn't really... exist. Stuff just happens. It's more watchable than the pilot, but, yeah, far from good.

Somewhere along the line, someone involved in this show should have said, "Hey, we don't have a big enough budget to make this work." They must have spent the entire production budget on Lockjaw because they have spent the entire show figuring out ways to not display any other inhumans who look different. They shaved Medusa's hair and apparently killed Triton in the first episode. Gorgon has been wearing boots the whole time
(and now is dead)
.

The two bright spots in the show have been the acting of Iwan Rheon (Maximus) and the relationship between Gorgon and Karnak. Especially the relationship between Gorgon and Karnak. Too bad they only spent an episode exploring it...

Nailed it on the head, Cap. The budget allocation was embarrassingly misplaced, playing up the cute factor of Lockjaw in favor of bothering to try for decent storytelling... or maybe playing it up because they knew they didn't have a story to tell in first place with those horrible scripts and Buck running the show.

I'm hoping this will just crossover with Agents of SHIELD. I'd love to see Blackbolt and Coulson interacting, or Karnak and May.

I know this thread is super old, but I just watched Inhumans for the first time a couple of months ago. As bad as the show was (though maybe not as much to me, because all I knew of I too hope the Inhumans was from Agents of SHIELD), I'd still like to see their story continue on SHIELD. The lamest part to me was Medusa getting her hair cut off. It never occurred to me that it was due to budgetary reasons. I was hoping it would grow back at some point. Well, if we do catch up to them again, I guess she'd have her hair back!
