Is there any reason Beware The Batman can't be a prequel to YJ? I'm trying to head-canon it.

It can't. I know the reasons, I'm too busy to explain it right now.
The closest world it fits in with is My Adventures with Superman; but only if you assume the "Slade" Wilson in that is the son of BtB's Slade Wilson.
In the comics, Grant Wilson's middle name is "Slade", and he lost his eye like his dad at one point so...why not?
