It's always possible that it took place on June 13th and everyone in Crystal Lake was going through a group psychosis that made them believe it was Friday the 13th.

Maybe Pamela was crazy and just got the date wrong, the other characters were just mistaken too, and the first movie taking place on a Friday the 13th became a sort of in-universe myth.
If you look at it like that, MAYBE it can take place on June, Wednesday the 13th, 1979 rather than an actual Friday.
