A lot of people try and fit the reboot continuity as part of the original timeline from the classic films, but there's too many problems with that so I don't agree with that interpretation. The TV series fits in perfectly fine though.

The wiki thinks it's non-canon because it's a crossover of course, which has no basis. It's as canon as the other Stranger Things comics. In other words, it's absolutely canon unless contradicted by higher tier material, as with anything.
