Alien vs. Predator - Timeline

I think "canon" gets away from people, sometimes. I'm not sure he's necessarily saying only the first two films are canon to Alien: Earth, I think he just means he doesn't personally subscribe to those stories and doesn't care to reference anything else. As long as the big parts that audiences consider "sacrosanct" are kept, that's all that matters.

I interpreted it as "Only the first 2 films take place, the others were made by other people to also work with those 2 movies"

Of course, this is untrue, but still an interesting take on it

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Dallas (not Parker) the one who goes into the vents?
Crew Expendable is set between scenes. The vent part has nothing to do with Dallas in the vents because they're different moments in time. It is based on a deleted scene involving Parker.

SAY WHAT?!
"This all takes place way in the future after everything that we know from the universe of Alien and Weyland-Yutani and Predator and Alien vs. Predator; all that stuff," explained Rosenblatt. "This is the farthest out [the series has] gone. [And for] the tone of the movie we're trying to strike a balance between all the cool badass stuff that you'd expect out of a Predator film – lots of great action, lots of serious moments, and the badass stuff – but also we want it to be like an adventure film [where] we actually connect with the characters. So that's kind of the balance we're taking."

I guess an arbitrary placement based on the lack of information could be:
  • 2025 - 1997 = 28
  • 2381 + 28 = 2409
Based on the release dates between films. It's highly unlikely it takes place in 2409, but, uh, we have nothing to go on.

Weyland-Yutani exists in 2063... hmmmm... Okay, here's an idea a friend came up with.

Weyland Industries merged with Yutani Corp after 2004, creating a subsidiary called the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, but Peter didn't want to work with them so created a separate company in 2012, the Weyland Corporation. In 2099, Weyland Corp was also absorbed by Yutani, so both Weyland companies are now under the same roof.

It's a lot simpler to explain than it first appeared... I mean, there's already two canonical Weyland companies so it's really easy.
Funny thing about this, it means that I, Robot's Alien reference has no contradictions now.

Not gonna add it though. :p
