Pa. Hunter's Images Stir Bigfoot Debate

RIDGWAY, Pa. (AP) — It's furry and walks on all fours. Beyond that, about the only thing certain about the critter photographed by a hunter's camera is that some people have gotten the notion it could be a Sasquatch, or bigfoot. Others say it's just a bear with a bad skin infection.

Rick Jacobs says he got the pictures from a camera with an automatic trigger that he fastened to a tree in the Allegheny National Forest, about 115 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, hoping to photograph deer.

"We couldn't figure out what they were," Jacobs said of the images captured on Sept. 16. "I've been hunting for years and I've never seen anything like this."

He contacted the Bigfoot Research Organization, which pursues reports of a legendary two-legged creature that some people believe lives in parts of the U.S. and Canada.

"It appears to be a primate-like animal. In my opinion, it appears to be a juvenile Sasquatch," said Paul Majeta of the bigfoot group.

However, the Pennsylvania Game Commission has a more conventional opinion. Agency spokesman Jerry Feaser said conservation officers routinely trap bears to be tagged and often see animals that look like the photos.

"There is no question it is a bear with a severe case of mange," Feaser told The Bradford Era.
The photos in question:

And some bear cubs for comparison:

I think it's obviously Robin Williams on a late-night nature walk.

Well, from the first picture it looks like strange, first off, the legs are long, and secondly, they are being used like a creature that has two legs walking on four would use them

The second picture just simply confuses me. I'm not sure if I'm looking at it's front or back, but that one makes it look definitely like a bear.

Yeah, I don't think that that first one looks like a bear at all.

And I'm sorry if the pics aren't showing up. These are the best quality images I could find, and they're from some bigfoot research site that seems to be on the verge of crashing from the number of people visiting it. Try googling the pictures.

Bigfoot is my absolute mythical animal. I am 100 percent in the camp that it exists. The picture doesn't look like a bear. It could be a good hoax.

I dunno. The bear theory is very plausible but the head placement in that second photo looks like the neck would have to be a bit too long to be a bear.

I can't possibly tell whether or not, but this is the most convincing photo I've seen

Keep in mind, that the picture below is showing us Bear Cubs, not a full grown bear.

Keep in mind mange is a disease, and will make an animal, if not treated, slowly die, and lose lots of weight.

With those factors, I can see the bear in both pics now.

yeah, not big enough to be a real sasquatch.

Look at them tiny feet.

If its not a bear thing, then its a monkey. A monkey lost in the woods (prolly from the zoo or something) is weird, but not totally inexplicable.
