Businessman Lex. It's pretty much the defining version of him. That is the more ruthless, Sly and just down right bad *** version of Lex. Mad Scientist Lex was fun sure but you ask anyone to describe Lex and they will mostly describe the Businessman Lex.

See Businessman Lex was a huge IMO evolution/re-vamp of the charracter that is/was one of the best. They turned from a generic villain as so many things have or had Mad Scientists and turned him in to superman's complete opposite that worked well.

There is just something about the Lex who can get you no matter where you go from prison to foreign countries, The Lex who has a Kyrptonite ring just in case. He's a much better villain because of it.

Power-Hungry Megalomaniacal Thug With A Genius Intellect Lex.

Seriously, he's a very awesome goon with a high IQ.

Birthright Lex. Science/Engineering genius, a talent he uses to fuel his massive business.

But that's just a specific. I vote for businessman Lex, no question. A new Superman movie without the word "LexCorp" in it still makes me shake my head.

Scientist Luthor is just another generic villain. He could be replaced with any of a dozen other Superman villains.

Luthor being a businessman is awesome. It explains how he's not in jail and makes him a unique threat.

Also, I have to go with the interpretation of him in my favorite issue of All-Star Superman. It's not so much that Lex hates Superman, as it is that Superman constantly stands between Lex and what he wants the most. "If it weren't for him, I'd be ruling the world by now" or something like that. Anyone who would give that up for another chump in a tacky battlesuit who insists on robbing a bank instead of patenting his inventions for millions is

EEEEE! :D

I like a mixture. He's successful as a businessman because of what he's done previously as a scientist.

Businessman Lex.

Superman's early stories painted him as almost a Socialist superhero, who's enemies were slumlords and businessmen. I've always liked that version of Superman and businessman Lex works perfectly as his exact opposite.
