I've said it before I'll say it again, I hope they tie the dark knight universe in with Superman. Even if it's a tv advert Bruce watches that shows the daily planet. Then we get the long mentioned "Worlds finest" and if they did it right it could lead to a Justice league like how Marvel's building to an Avengers movie.
And I still a want a supergirl film
The article is titled "ALL DC movie are on hold," whereas in actual fact, it's just that most of the properties are on hold as they work out a methodology to rival Marvel's, which is just fine by me.
As long as there's some kind of a ball rolling where Chris Nolan's third Bat-film is concerned, I'm happy if no other DC-related film comes out until 2015.
Just don't see how Nolan's Batman can be in the Justice League, he's wanted for murder and he's fighting aliens with the JLA at the same time?
Well the league would figure out he's innocent and he would work with them in secret i.e he's never shown with the league for photos and interviews, However he still helps out on missions he can do in secret.
In alot of ways the fact he's wanted for murder helps the film justice league a lot as it forces the directer and writer to use him in the dark stealthy way he operates in his own films.
That doesn't address the fundametal contradiction with Batman being in the league, one day he's in Gotham, he is having trouble with some guy with a hat fetish and the next day he is the JLA, outsmarting alien gods. That never made sense, its never been addressed in the comics.
Who said he's fighting Alien-gods in the Justice league movie I mentioned? They could do A) multiple villains teaming up. Batman in dark knight went to Japan to catch a criminal why wouldn't he go to metropolis or somewhere to catch one his villains as he would see it as his fight. B) You want to do aliens. Why not have the aliens actions like say a virus or something effecting Gotham so again it's his fight or C)What ever event starts in Gotham and Leauge show up and see batman trying to help and recruit him.
There is lots of ways for it to work. Personally I liked the cartoons version where Batman helped but never actually saw himself as one of them at first. Powers do not matter for the league they just need people who can help in the right situation.
Also are you forgetting Bruce having technology built for him in secret. The league might need one of his inventions that was built for him. E.g that weapon in batman begins to get rid of an enemies water supply or the sonar phone technology in the dark knight could be used by the league for communication/vision.
Don't rule him out.
I just don't see how Batman joining the Justice League fits with the ultra realsistic tone of the nolan films, so he's a dark urban vigilante who fights in a corrupt city, but on weekends he hangs out with a bunch of god like characters who fight aliens and world conquerors. Does not compute. Like I said it doesn't fit the tone of the Nolan movies.
Except when you think he fights the criminals in Gotham because none of the other league members live there. As for the "does not fit with the nolan films" How does justice league film in anyway other than oh batman was in in effect the Nolan movies? It doesn't.
and again the over-top BS like "but on weekends he hangs out with a bunch of god like characters who fight aliens and world conquerors." who the hell said it would be a regular thing? You are assuming stuff that no one said.
If the threat effected Gotham would you rather have batman run and hide? That's not who he is. The right threat and right reasons it would be great to see him and the league on the big screen.
The league needs batman. Why? Because he's one of the most recognisable members so if they do live action league you have two choices really a) Dark knight batman universe is shown to be same universe or b) Get a different live action Batman and if they want to do it like Avengers that means a new batman movie reboot. I'll go with the first choice.
Okay but think about it, Batman is wanted murderer, why would the JLA assume he is innocent, how do they find out he is innocent and which time does that sub plot take away time from the main JLA plot (which will be already over crowded with 7 or so heroes and a villain).
Also what type of JLA threat would work in a Nolan ultra relaistic Gotham? How would batman get invovled? What would be aliens or world conquering super villains, I mean who else does the JLA fight? The threats the JLA fight don't fit the tone of the nolan Batman, it just doesn't work?
