James Gunn: Right now, there's actually two really cool film scripts that I'm hoping to take to the next level that we have general plans for, and I'm excited about both of those. And then I'm excited about one TV project in particular. I don't know why we're not greenlighted on that already — it's just figuring out the budget. So there's a couple of things that are very present that I'm excited about. Dealing with getting Supergirl into shape, all these other things.
It's probably the "V for Vendetta" project or the Jimmy Olsen thing.

I just wanna have open discussion about these topics and it's usually dead air as of late.
Between this and other IRL stuff, my investment is draining.

You know what Lars reminds me of?

Johnny Tambourine from adultswim's Saul of the Molemen.

I'm sure he's a great actor, just a thought I had.

Can I say something slightly political for a second?

Remember how the public quickly turned on Superman and later on loved him after Lex was ousted?
Play into that, Gunn. Much of humanity has the memory of goldfish and will conform to uncomfortable and extreme realities when confronted with them.
You have a certain someone whose first letter starts with "Asmongold" who gets millions of views cherry picking info and ignoring the rest while telling people "Everything ain't that bad, y'all." Which is not true...
(Not saying you need a parody version of him, maybe Gordon Godfrey of Apokolips with similar talking points to brainwash the people; but that's leaning in a bit too much.)

That's how Lex eventually becomes President after saving the world with Superman from Brainiac and winning back trust from people.
The Justice League will come into existence not only as a fighting force against the worst of the worst, but social heroes akin to the Super Friends who are extremely friendly to the press and public. Lex will wanna counter that with the DCU version of Legion of Doom / The Light.

Show us a reflection of humanity as the driving point for the DCU without anything that's too real or depressing.

Also, the Anti-Life Equation is the ultimate conformity to the worst possible reality.

The potential is there.
