Don't expect me to take you with me when I go to s
So I'm watching 2001 and thinking about how cool HAL9000 is and it makes me think of other robots in film. Which is your favourite?

If it counts due to there been movies on it then I'll go with Bender from futurama. If not then Marvin the Paranoid Android from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Hard call, but I'm going with Maria. She was the prototype for all film robots to come after her. Plus, I loved Fritz Lang's vision.

a close #2 would be Marvin, he was such an antithesis to the stereotypical robots.

Wall-E!

He is adorable and was created for film, unlike Marvin, who is awesome.

But I'm also far less bitter than I used to be.

Marvin. Screw WALL-E! Gort can suck a big one. Nothing can withstand the awesomeness that is the big headed robot that would want nothing more than to kill itself, but never would because the fanbase loves him too much.

It's so hard to decide!

Marvin, as written in the books, but voiced in my head ALWAYS by Alan Rickman.

And props to ED-209, if only for being the best form of comic relief ever.

Definetly and undoubtedly Marvin! That little thing puts a smile on my face everytime I think about it.

I got the characters from a list which only included characters created for film, rather than those based on books (Marvin, Roy Batty, Iron Giant etc.). So that's why they're not on the list.

If it's robots created just for film I have to again vote other. Evil Bill & Ted. They were just awesome.

****, I thought my brother and I were the only two people on the planet who quote that line while pretending to yell it into a chainlink fence.
