Hello everyone.

I have an idea for here to hear your thoughts and feedback. Who would be up for a movie club on here. The way it works is simple. We all agree to sign up. Then we all (unless you have it already) rent , buy , download or what ever said movies. Then on the designated date we talk about it. Say what we liked hated ect...

So the basic lay out would be say : January - 2 films = Member a) Blazing Saddles , Member b) Finding Nemo. Then we have 2 septate one for first film one for second say 2 weeks to see the movie? or 1 a month might be better

Every movie chosen (no porn!) will be watched and judged with an overall movie raiting.

Rules for selection I'd say :

1)no films in cinemas currently as it needs to be easily accessed so each person has a means to get it.

2) Try to go for really hard to get films for same reason.

3) give each person's movie a fair try.


Who would be interested in something like this? Also what are your thoughts on how to do this?

I'm interested. I try to watch a movie everyday anyway so I will definitely participate.

Hurm.

Not sure. While I like the idea, I'd enjoy it more in person, and I don't want to rent movies as I have too many movies unwatched on my dvd shelf. :/

That's fair enough bass. Yeah it would be better in person but could still be fun to. As for your unwatched dvds. You could pick one of those as you're choice when it's you're turn. Same with others they can pick a movie they love or have on dvd.

Maybe you should pay for us to come and visit then!

Mole and I are the only ones so far? Really? All you have to do is watch a movie every two weeks and post a bit about it! Most of us do that anyway!

If you guys are going to do this, might I suggest using Netflix for it? Small subscription fee, instant access to streaming movies that can then be watched with a group online using the Party function.

I am still interested in this. Is there anyone else?

I'm taking next semester off and would be willing to run it. I think Mole's got the right idea - a bunch of us submit a couple of films that we want people to watch, one is chosen randomly every two or three weeks, everyone gets the film (DVD, stream, download, however you get your movies), we watch it and then we discuss what we liked, what we didn't like etc.

It would be pretty easy to do and I think it would be a lot of fun.

I've been trying to watch more movies anyways, so yeah, I'll be a part of it. Sounds great.

It sounds like a cool idea...my only reservation is that somebody will pick a movie I will hate and I will waste 2 hours of my life watching it. I have remarkable insight as to what movies I will like and am rarely - if ever - surprised and end up liking a movie I know I will hate before watching it.

That, and sitting down to watch a movie is hard for me because of time (or lack of).

That's a big problem but I think a lot of us have similar tastes. I know the movies I pick will hopefully be diverse so there'll be something for everyone.

sounds like fun.........PLEASE, PLEASE no one do A Clockwork Orange, i don't think i can stomach watching it again.
