Gamemaster: X-Games

So, figured we might give this another go. There was a first round of this for Superman, but for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere. I figured if we broadened the horizons on it, it might make it more flexible. When we focus on something as singular as, say, a Superman game, it comes down to "I want these costumes, and these villains", because we know a Superman game is going to be about Superman flying around an open city shooting down bad guys with his laser vision. So I figured I'd broaden it. The rules are pretty general. Outline a video game using the property in question.

This time, it's games in the X-Men universe. That means, it could be anything from a game modeled on Stan Lee's original crew of mutants, to the Age of Apocalypse, to Liefeld's X-Force or Peter David's X-Factor. The only rules are, it's got to center on mutants, and the cast has to be large enough to qualify as a team.

Story

The government has discovered a way to stop mutation and are calling it a cure. Upon hearing this lines are drawn in the sand. Magneto wages war on the humans for thinking mutants need to be cured. The X-men want to prove that mutants and humans can co exist. Then there are others who think now is the time to reach their own selfish goals.

modes

Story mode – Plays like X-men Legends / Marvel Ultimate alliance through most of the story. However when it comes bosses it switches to a fighting game that plays like Marvel Vs Capcom style controls. Story mode is split in to two modes you can play through "X-men" following the X-men story lines , "Brotherhood" plays through the brotherhood storyline. "Final mode" after beating the other two you unlock final mode which allows you to play as a mix of both sides.

"Humans" after completing all the main modes and unlocking everything a what if story mode opens up where you play as the humans to see what if the humans had ended mutants.


Notes : "X-men" "brotherhood" and "human" modes have characters from the other teams as bosses as well as ONE of the villains. "Final mode" has all the villains and no characters from other modes.


Vs – This is where you can use just the fighting part of the game using any characters you have unlocked. Can have the following one vs one or team. Available in 1 player vs computer , 1 player vs two player , computer vs computer


Online – Play either story in co-op , vs mode and later Downloadable other missions for co-op


Media – View you unlockable stuff here. Includes : art work , comic covers , videos , costumes and an animated comic of the main story mode

The story isn't anything new (for the most part), but it has its new marks that it doesn't detract from it so much. I think the best part, is the extra 'What If' human mode. That's what would hooked me (well, it's X-Men, so I was hooked anyways, but you get what I mean.).

The story is pretty much what X-men III could have been. :lol: It's hard to think up a new X-men story when they've all been done before so I wanted to use one that had leeway.

I like the idea of having a human story as I don't think it's been done in a game before
